1X1 with ~Griffin: Blossom and Maverick

She stood beside him, licking her lips in anticipation of the breakfast soon to come, ready to learn how to fish and whatever else he wanted to teach her today.

Maverick waited another moment before plunging his open muzzle into the pool and filling his jaws with as many minnows as he could catch. He pulled his face back out and quickly dodged to a dip in the rock where he could put them so they wouldn't flop back into the tidepool. He ran back to the pool and stood beside Blossom. "Pretty simple actually." he assured her with a smile.

"It seems so," she agrees, waiting as he had. She had a feeling this would take a little longer to master than swimming, though. He'd been fishing all his life like this and the only thing she'd had to catch was the occasional insect. It wasn't quite the same.

Maverick plunged his muzzle back into the tide pool, pulling out another heaping mouthful of minnows and rushing back to the dip in the stone where the others where, carefully filling the hole. "That should be enough for us both." he mused, wagging his tail. He turned back to Blossom. "Would you like to try darling?"

"Um... maybe later," she says shyly. She was a little too nervous to try right now, really, and she didn't want that to ruin her appetite.

"Alright then. Come on over. They taste a lot better than they smell, trust me." he wagged his tail gently, beckoning for her to come over to sit beside him. Usually he just stuck his muzzle in the pools and swallowed them whole in mouthfuls, but he didn't want her to choke, so he figured catching them and eating slow would be better until she got accustomed to his strange ways.

Blossom moves over and sits beside him, tail twitching nervously. "I believe I've already covered that," she whispers, attempting a joke.

He twitched his tail, slightly flustered. "Sorry. Let's eat shall we?" he smiled, and leaned forward towrad to begin his breakfast, ready to enjoy his first meal with her. He'd skipped dinner yesterday due to his excitement of meeting a new friend, and he was starving now, eager to get breakfast done so they could do whatever she liked.

She copies his actions and eats the fish slowly. She had to admit, it wasn't bad, and she was really hungry. Having only eaten breakfast and a tiny snack for lunch yesterday, coupled with her anxiety and swimming lesson, it was perfectly acceptable.

"Not a problem." he spouted, forgetting that his mouth was full. He blushed and swallowed his food before offering an apology. He'd never really had anyone to talk to during mealtimes, so he wasn't used to using proper manners. "Sorry Blossom. You're welcome. Are you liking it?"
