1X1 with ~Griffin: Blossom and Maverick

"Yeah," she admits with a yawn of her own, standing and wagging her tail slightly. "And I promised we could go to sleep as soon as there was no more salt in our coats, so let's do just that."

[Maxella Roe]

"Well, I think you got it." he smiled, hopping up onto the soft mossy cushion, patting the space beside him with his tail.

She joins him without hesitation, cuddling close and resting her head on his paws. She moves until her cheek is pressed against his heart, then yawns softly. "Goodnight, Maverick," she whispers.

He yawned as she did, since the action was so contagious and pulled a fern over his head. "G'night." he said smiling to himself, happy to have a new friend, and possibly something that would grow into much more.

She smiled slightly in her half-sleep state before letting darkness and dreams pull her under.

Maverick chuckled lightly, hoping he didn't snore. He didn't really know whether or not he did, having lived alone for so much of his life. He yawned, hoping she was a heavy sleeping, and lay his head down over her shoulders, drifting off slowly to the soothing roar of the ocean just outside his cave.

{I'm just going to skip to morning.}

Blossom wakes slowly the next morning, feeling Maverick's warm body still near her. It brings a smile to her face, how comfortable it is, and so she just lays there perfectly content. She wasn't sure if she loved him yet, but it seemed like a very good possibility to her. She just wasn't sure what he felt, if he was willing to try something more than friendship.

Maverick snorted lightly and raised his head, stretching his jaws in a yawn. He smelled something just a bit unfamiliar pressed to his side, and it takes him a minute to remember his new friend he met yesterday. He didn't know yet if she were awake or asleep, so he was careful not to jostle around, or say anything that might arouse her from sleep if she hadn't woken up yet.

She smiles again, reaching up and nuzzling his cheek. "Good morning," she says softly, moving closer. She had to admit, that was the single best sleep she had gotten her entire life. No doubt it didn't just have to do with the ocean, either.

He smiled as she nuzzled his cheek, and gave her an affectionate swipe of his tongue over her head, smoothing the fur, ruffled from a good night's sleep. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?" he asked kindly.
