It had taken a good ten minutes of sobbing for her tears to begin to decline, and even when she had reached that point, it took a moment before she noticed that she had accidentally prompted the plant to lend her its strength, lifeforce, and protection. She whispered a small thank you, which she wasn't sure it understood, before running slightly trembling fingers over its vines, to which it exclaimed in happiness at her touch and withdrew, allowing her to see a slightly annoyed Grand tapping his foot in a chair, facing what had been her self-made prison. He stood when the plants had returned and walked up to where she was on the ground, towering over her a moment before he offered his hand for her to stand. She looked to the ground, ashamed, as she took it and he helped her stand with strength beyond a human.
"I'm just here to help you, dear." His voice was kind, but sad, and she felt worse.
"I know," she murmured, hugging her arms to herself, "it just happened."
"No, it did not just happen, and you know it. The plant reacted because you were upset, which you happened to broadcast to all the living things in the room, mind you, including myself." His tone was stern, but not nearly as terrible as she would have thought, though she still winced. With a gentle hand on the shoulder, he led her to her chair and she obediently sat down. "Now, I'm going to place a concealment on your form and powers then teach you, to the best of my abilities, to only broadcast to plants, not creatures or humans. If we can't figure out a way for you to do manage that, I'll have to get some help and place a larger concealment on you. All right?" She nodded, her eyes haunted though she heard every word.
He closed his eyes and began to mutter an extensive concealment over her in an ancient language she only barely understood, however that she understood even a little was shocking; it sounded a little like the language(s) the plants spoke, which made her wonder as to what race, or species, the language had been used or created by.
Huge amounts of power built up around Grand and herself until he apparently finished and brought his hands together, scrunching up the magic cloud until it was maybe the size of a soccor ball, then shoved the ball toward her, releasing just before he came close enough to touch her, the ball sticking half showing outside herself before it wavering and sunk into herself, only a small tingling feeling as it did so. Immediately after, Grand sighed and slouched in his chair, his expression both relieved and tired. "That's much better, though you'll need stronger ones eventually." He sat straight once more, facing her with a more determined expression upon his face. "Now for the difficult part. Repeat after me, all right?"

In about ten minutes' time, Lily proved herself able to not spread her emotions with humans and mythical creatures (during this she also discovered that it took conscious effort to share definite thoughts, that only her emotions flowed naturally), but her lack of silence with the plants and animals was growing more and more frustrating with each minute she spent trying to inhibit the ability. With a sigh, Grand stopped the session.
"I think that's good enough for now. It could be that you're not meant to be separated from nature, since it's proving so difficult, though that means you have to be even more careful." He warned, giving her a stern look that made her squim until she nodded in consent. Then he smiled. "Well, I bet your hungry again. And this time I think you should go out by yourself."
She squeaked in alarm, but he continued as though she wasn't freaking out or it wasn't at all strange.
"You're going to be surrounded by these students everyday and the sooner you learn to deal with your celebrity status, the better." He bustled to the other side of the room, where a different door led somewhere else, "Tough love my dear! Tough love! You'll only learn by doing things yourself!" And then he was gone, off somewhere else to spread his apparent idiocy to other undeserving peoples.
Lily sat dumbfounded in her chair, overwhelmed by the idea of being surrounded by so many people, all their lifeforces. At least she wouldn't feel every single person's emotions when they got too close to her. She sighed and went to the door that led to the cafeteria, listening to the noise outside in both love for the beings that made it and apprehension for having to brave them all. She was hungry, but she didn't want food enough to stand that crowd. Maybe she could just slip along the side quickly and go mostly unnoticed?
Suddenly the door opened inwardly, and she had to maneuver wildly to the side to keep it from hitting her. When she'd gotten her balance, she saw that Henry stood in the doorway, his stern expression searching the room, obviously irritated. Again, his true form grated on her senses; he was in no way natural and her natural magic knew it.
"Did that empty-headed bimbo leave you alone to get back to get to your dorm?" He asked after turning his foul eyes on her. She recoiled within herself, part of her disgusted, part of her indifferent, and a small portion wishing she could fix him, to heal him of his unnaturalness, something she didn't entirely know that she could do but was certainly willing to try.
"Y-yes," she relaxed after a moment, surprisingly relieved to have him there and agreeing with her as to Grand's insanity. "I don't have any of my dorm information, the number to my cafeteria account, or..." she tettered on admitting her insecurities, but decided that Henry's form may be absolutely disgusting, but he was in a seat of authority at the school for a reason, so, "nor do I really feel comfortable going out there by myself." She was sure her insecurity showed on her face, though she did try to withhold it. She needed to be strong right now, more so than she had thought she would have to be upon beginning college.
Henry's expression softened, a strange sight indeed, and he opened the door for her to walk through. "I'll escort you." His tone was very kind, which also struck her as strange, but she smiled in relief and passed through the door, Henry close behind. She was shocked when she saw how many guards had been outside the door that got up and either left or repositioned themselves as she went. It was wonderfully comforting, but showed her how much they, well, Henry at least, thought she was in danger. A shiver ran down her spine at the same time that she sensed all the beautiful beings around her and thrilled at their presence. She could have been moved to tears by how wonderful she felt they were, but she couldn't focus on them just now.
"Are you hungry?" He said quietly behind her, to which she nodded, and he led her to the side of the cafeteria, showing her to a menu with all the different foods available.
Lily couldn't help being a bit excited. She carefully looked over all her choices, hoping some good food would help her calm down or feel better. At least not everyone seemed to have noticed her, a testament to Grand's concealment spell. As far as she could tell, it had restricted her presence to about ten feet away. Still too long a distance for her, but... better. Far better.
