Flare looked at Ash, surprised to hear the question. He had been trying to avoid thinking of the panther, especially as more then a friend, but hadn't succeeded. He wasn't sure he wanted to tell anybody this, even Ash, but he knew the mountain lion seemed to know already."I like her. A lot."he finally answered, not wanting to lie."Please don't tell her."

Ash looked at him, and twitched an ear as he listened. However, his gaze was more of a father watching one of his own. Since Ash himself was probably one or two years older than flare, he then tilted his head." your going to have to tell her eventually, otherwise you may not gain another chance, from my experience, you'll never find another like her, especially when other males come into contact with her, but otherwise your secret is safe with me, until you gain the courage to tell her yourself", he replied.

Flare felt massive relief at the mountain lion's words. At first he had been scared that Ash may tell the pretty panther, but now he understood that the secret was safe. It was a bit surprising. When they had first met Ash the mountain lion had been aggressive and rude. He had always rejected any offers of help, but he had changed. Now it seemed he had come to trust them, and to be honest, it made Flare happy. He had grown a strong feeling of respect and admiration for Ash, and hadn't wanted to see him leave."I'll tell her soon."he promised

Ash dipped his head in reply, before standing up. He then flexed his claws a little, to get the blood flowing back through his toes. Before looking over at the tiger again, and walked towards the bigger male. Before pushing him in the shoulder, as he twitched his tail tip." also, I didn't just come here to help the female, but also you, since like it or not, this is your pride, your group, your family, and to protect them you need to fight, which is why I'm here, I'm going to help you with your fighting abilities, while also sharing some of my own as a mountain lion, that way your opponents will be outmatched and you may not have to even shed blood", he said.

Flare felt touched at Ash's loyalty. The mountain lion may be harsh at times, but it was clear he meant well and cared for all of them. This offer and many of his actions showed this to be true. He nodded in agreement, happy to have the mountain lion back with them. Earlier he had vanished, and Flare had been uncertain if the mountain lion would return. "Thanks, that sounds great."he replied cheerfully."This means a lot to me, and I bet everybody else will appreciate it as well." he knew the others would feel safer if they knew how to fight and defend themselves. He himself would feel much better after this plan had taken affect. After all he wanted to defend all of his friends, even if they could do so themselves.

Ash rolled his eyes, before showing his signature smirk. As he walked back towards the caves entrance, twitching an ear as he went." yeah, yeah, don't get too comfortable with me showing kindness, I'm only doing this because your still a cub in a way, whether or not I stay afterwards is yet to be decided", he replied.

Flare got up, following the other male. Doing this because he was a cub in a way? He doubted that was the real reason. Either way he wouldn't question Ash. If he chose to stay it had to be of his own accord, not because Flare begged him to do so. "A cub huh? Im not sure. I've grown big enough to prove your theory wrong."he joked, happy to be at ease with Ash

Ash smirked a little more, as he tilted his head to the side. Looking back over at the tiger, who had caught up to him. His fangs showing, which meant he was amused." Oh really? How old do you think I am, Flare? At least two years older than you, so by default..... your still a cub in the eyes of a feline who's older", he replied.

"I must be a funny looking cub then." Flare replied in return, amusement clear in his voice. It was odd to think of himself as a cub, even if it were just him being compared to Ash. "You must have been like that too. Though I bet im more annoying then you were. After all, every cub can be very annoying at times."he had never raised cubs, but had been near them as their mothers attended to them.

Ash looked at the tiger, and his smile faded a little. Before looking ahead again, and fell silent for a few minutes. Before finally speaking, as he listened to his surroundings." to those who look at a cub on the outside, then yes, they can be very annoying, but not to a parent", he replied.
