Caspian walked over to the boy, crossing the street carefully. "What are you doing?" He asked cautiously.
The boy looked up. He smiled. "Look in the water." He gesturing for Caspian to come over, and he knelt down hesitantly. There was a seemingly broken drum in the water, a really old-fashioned-looking one. It was settled in the rocks and sand. He looked back up at the other kid, extremely confused.
"A drum?" Caspian asked. The boy nodded.
"Yeah, I've been trying to get at it." He said.
"Why?" Caspian asked.
"I like instruments." The boy said with a shrug. "I think I could repair it."
All Caspian could think about was how weird this kid was. Instead of saying that, though, Caspian accidentally said "I'll go get it for you."
Before he could retract his offer, the boy lit up. Caspian knew there was no taking back his offer. He stood up and began to make his way down the rocky hillside to the river.
