The woman Felicity gave an eager nod and a happy: "Yes! We have quite a wide selection of food. I can lead you..." She seemed far more perky and confident than she had a few minutes ago, when she seemed to have been far more nervous and edgy. She cast a careful look about with her pretty dark brown eyes at the surroundings and added in a hushed voice: "As long as you can keep the Hobbes away." Then, immediately dropping the secretive appeal, Felicity returned to her happy, bubbling state: "Follow me!" In a cheerful voice and turned about to turn back into the woods where she must've come, for the twigs and foliage was slightly trampled and broken in a direct path. There was slight bits of fabric hanging loosely on some of the outstretched branches, so Flick could only assume that she'd tried to get away in a bit of a hurry from the impending Hobbes. She had gone on a few leagues in the mud before stopping and casting an innocent glance over her shoulder at the pair: "Coming?" Felicity even went as far to bat her eyes in a sweet, sort of cute manner at Flick and he stiffened a little.
"Sounds good to me," Flick said at last, midway between a confident tone and one that was a little uncomfortable sounding due to his wound. He was quite intrigued with the idea of an inn, considering Alphaess's supplies had been, well...odd? Was that a good word? They seemed more like plain supplies. Bread and meat...heavy things like that. Flick wasn't exactly one to have a refined palette but he wasn't too eager on having something of an animal diet for the last few days. Furthermore, he didn't believe that Alphaess was too eager on sharing her food with him either. She wasn't really good on sharing anything at all, really. But it seemed as though they didn't have much chance to think about it, for Felicity had suddenly whirled about and gone through the woods at a slightly jogging-like pace. Flick winced. There was no way he could go at that pace with his leg...He could try, but it would most definitely be thoroughly embarrassing.
It was either get left behind, or go. Flick decided that the walk would most likely be worth it, so he gave in and followed the woman. He kept at a slightly slower pace so, of course, he was bound to be left behind by the others. For once, Flick regretted having been cocky in that moment and letting his guard down so easily...he'd never really dealt with worse than a broken arm (The cause? Falling from a tree, naturally) and getting cut by a munchkin's axe was...weird, and painful in so many ways. It was in a pretty bad spot, too, for whenever Flick happened to extend the left leg there would be a jolt like electricity up that limb. He found a way around it, however, by using the outstretched branches in his path to help his way along and not fully extending the leg whenever he needed to step forward. It might have looked a bit awkward and was probably damn embarrassing, but Flick figured this was the best way until he got the time to heal the leg. Maybe, just maybe, Flick could give that whole 'magic heal-y hands' a go.
Finally, after what had seemed like hours, the inn finally came into view. It was a ways away from civilization and shrouded by the trees. It was a fairly small place, but quite a bit larger than Alphaess's home in comparison. There was what looked to be a porch, a stone-like roof and slightly molded over walls. The windows were alit with a pleasant yellow honeyglow light and, from here, Flick could already tell that there would be warm scents coming from that place. As if on cue, his leg throbbed once again. For the entirety of the trip Flick had got the feeling that there had been some sort of dampness running down his leg...blood, most likely. It had stopped now, and Flick had refrained from making any sort of noise of pain as though to show Alphaess he was fine. He was, wasn't he? Oh, how badly Flick wanted to just curl up and whine about it. But he couldn't. He had to show Alphaess he was capable of something. Upon reaching the inside of the inn, the scents and sounds finally made themselves apparent. The inn was sort of empty aside from perhaps a few people crowded in the far off corner, playing some sort of game. Felicity went right past them confidentally and approached the rather large man who was standing by the counter. She knelt across it and seemed to be speaking to the man. He was quite large with the kind of burly arms that could probably choke Flick in a single go. Real intimidating...He had a bald head and a thick, greasy brown mustache and seemed to be cleaning a glass with a dirty rag in his spare hand. Yet, as he listened to Felicity a smile broadened on his face, and he turned to the two people at the door.
"Come in! Sit down." He called, in a bold and rather pleasant voice. "There's plenty food and drink to go around." And the man gestured with a thick, meaty hand for the pair to enter. Flick felt a little weird when, naturally, he was a rather confident person when it came to social matters. He shot a quick look at Alphaess, but decided to make up his mind. It wasn't like he could walk back to Alphaess's house in this state and, perhaps if he sat down, perhaps he could get a better grip on how to heal his leg. It no longer stung but, now, had a sort of uncomfortable dull ache that drove Flick mad. So, he gave in, and approached the closest table possible to the door where he promptly sat down and swung his left leg up onto the chair in front of him, leaving the other two open. Flick glanced over it for a brief moment before suddenly sitting back and looking at Alphaess with a bold grin. "Afraid of being a little social, are you?" He patted the spot next to him (well, the one that wasn't occupied with his leg) and added on in a devilish tone: "Surely a little alcohol won't kill you, either. And maybe you might not be a total stick in the mud." Flick rolled his eyes at that and returned his attention to his leg, focusing on unwrapping where he'd tied the fabric.

The Alphaess
❦ Hєяσιηє σƒ Kησтнσℓє Gℓα∂є ❦
➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳
Balverine hunter - Twenty-four years - around Oakvale
❧ Impatiently waiting for a response, Alphaess was keeping a gaze on the girl. Quite a wide section of food. Ah, well, that was enough for Alphaess to finally make up her mind; they were visiting this inn, no matter what. She would even carry Flick (or an easier decision: leave him behind) to get to there. Now, she just had to prevent herself from drooling. How long it had been since she had a real dinner. It better be as good as the girl said. They just wouldn't like to get her upset. No, not really. Hobbes? If Alphaess was going to get some food after this, Hobbes might go extinct today. With a confident smile, Alphaess placed a hand on the sheath of her swords, showing what would happen if a Hobbe dared to get between her and her meal. Though, she was rather surprised that the girl turned around and moved back that quickly. But she even gave a slight nod and shot Flick a glance, briefly.
❧ With a slower pace, Alphaess fallowed a little behind the girl, keeping some distance just to give herself some space. She never did enjoyed being so close to people, so it was staying that way. And she kinda required some space to think. What to think? Of course the meal she would get. It felt weird to receive a reward from the villagers; the best reward she have gotten earlier should be the the ones she redeemed after finishing guest cards. Actually, she did got something from a villager once. It happened to be during a small emergency; a small convoy was ambushed by feral balverines. Luckily, Alphaess was around and was the first to notice. She slayed the creatures, mercilessly and violently. Her clothing bloodstained and slightly ripped, standing over balverine bodies, she looked quite... menacing. Obviously, none of the merchants even dared to approach her, even that she was the one that saved them. And Alphaess didn't cared for hearing a 'thanks' either, she turned around to leave, without a word, but was stopped, stopped by something pulling her shawl gently. It was a pair of little, grateful hands. The child of one of the travelling merchants. Alphaess was shocked when she realized; he was offering her a thank-you gift, his toy.
❧ The inn was in the view now, but Alphaess was quite busy recalling old memories, not even noticing it meanwhile. It was the strange, faint non-forest scents that alerted her. She was finally snapped out of her thoughts, blinking her eyes a few times, she studied the building and generally the area. It was a smaller place than most inns, quite far away from the closest village, but that only meant that it had more chance of having fresh food. Alphaess paused when she reached the door, the unsure, tensed feeling had returned. Okay, Alphaess had to admit, she haven't been in such place for a pretty long time. Her last stay ended up with a some sort of commotion with the guards, after breaking that man's arm. She could easily say that he deserved it, but the guards did not shared the same idea with her. After seconds of hesitation, the never ending hunger had won over her mind, and Alphaess entered the cozy-looking inn at once.
❧ Now that Felicity had went to talk to a quite large man, whom she assumed to be her father, Alphaess and Flick were left on their own. Alphaess had impressively had her uneasiness under control, it wasn't her first visit to an inn, nor would be the last one. While waiting, she run her gaze across the large room, searching for any possible dangers. Or any possible source of entertainment. People playing a game at one corner, sounded appealing, Alphaess enjoyed that kind of games pretty much, and had a few 'techniques' to win, too, like previously shown back at the Darkwood camp. But, for now, Alphaess decided to focus on the food, trying to get as much as food as she could. After a few minutes, the man Felicity was talking to had turned to the two, having a smile and calling to them with a pleased way. Yeah, they (after all, Flick had done so much, like slaying these three monstrous creatures, while letting Alphaess take down the easier part of slaying a dozen more) were the ones that saved the girl, and sure, a little rewards would be okay. Maybe even a bit tempting for Alphaess right now. "I think I would rather go with food this time." Alphaess replied confidently, feeling rather content, maybe even happy for the offer, but still, she wasn't going to drink. That was out of the question.
❧ After Flick, Alphaess also moved towards the table, letting him get to the table before her. After he was seated and continued from where he left from his usual annoying attitude, Alphaess just shot a glare down to him. Than, she had grabbed the chair he had patted on from the back and moved it to the other side of the table with a swift move and sat down, facing Flick who was now at the other side of the table. She had her lesson about sitting next to him, also, she thought it might be better if she had more space while she ate. And of course, it was easier to keep an eye on him when he was in front of her. "What did you just say?" Alphaess questioned, raising an burrow at the same time, faking a shocked expression in a sarcastic way. "You call me a stick in the mud? I'm pretty sure you were the one sticking in the mud the day we met." Alphaess added with a calm voice, a grin growing on her face, placing her arms on the table and trying to get comfortable.
❧ Eyeing the barmaid that passed by, carrying drinks for the people at the corner, Alphaess murmured; "Think I'll pass that, I'm more interested in the food." Nope, there was no way she was drinking. She had came here just for the food. Just food. Her hands went up to her black shawl, pulling it slightly to loosen the neck, than her hands went up to her hair, pushing them away from her face with a quick stroke. Running her gaze around a little bit more, her eyes went down on Flick's not-so-fresh-now wound. It was nothing. Just a plain scratch. How badly a blade of these little rats' weapon could injure someone. He was just overacting about it in her opinion. "Not finished with it yet?" She asked, sounding rather impatient and bored of the waiting. She was just too eager to get something to eat up, and was trying to fight boredom by messing with him.

Flick feigned a hurt expression for a brief moment, and then shook his head and rolled his eyes in an exhausted manner. He was usually one to come up with a quick, cunning comeback and yet he couldn't think of one at the moment that wouldn't provoke Alphaess into choking him. Oh, he had plenty of them, and yet they were something for another time. Flick instead refocused his attentions back on his wounded leg, pulling away at the black cloth to reveal what lay underneath. The fabric of his pants had been torn away quite a bit, ripping almost all the way around and revealing the stained spot in the clothing where the blood had spread. He couldn't exactly see underneath the knee, so Flick was forced to draw the chair a little closer to himself and bent his knee as far as his leg would allow without jabbing out in pain. Flick made an uncomfortable expression and carefully ran his fingers on the underside of the wound. He noticed that Alphaess did not seem as pitiful as she had been upon helping him to his feet earlier in the woods, and rather just unimpressed. To her words, Flick lifted his head and offered a small grin: "You think battle wounds like this take two seconds to heal? Nuh, uh, Red." Despite his words, he found that it really hurt to so much as bend the knee in the slightest, and the walk all the way here hadn't exactly helped matters.
While it seemed as though the innkeeper was preparing something, a woman with curly blonde hair and a rather bubbly appeal had approached their table to set something before them on the hard wood. Two things, to be precise. By the strong metal-like smell and amber colour, Flick could assume it had to be some sort of gutter beer. There was a thick, foamy substance that spilled slightly over the top of it and pooling around the circumference of the glass. Flick had a rather strange idea that might prove poor in the end, but ah. If he didn't do anything, it was possible that Flick's would could get infected and, well, he didn't think Alphaess had the patience to deal with him if he got sick and wasn't able to train for some time. Flick reached out with his spare hand and took the glass closest to him but, instead of drinking, he instead cupped the black rag that he'd used to bind his leg with against the mouth of the glass and tilted it so that it dampened the front of the cloth. From there, Flick set the glass back down and slowly applied the cloth back onto his knee...
Instantaneously, a jolt of pain ran up Flick's leg and he lay one arm across the top of the table, pressing his forehead to it and obscuring his face while he bit back the curses that were sure to come. Alcohol on wounds was supposedly a proper way to clean them, and beer had really been the next best thing. It had been, however, incredibly painful and it literally felt as though the alcoholic substance might be eating away at the tender flesh. Flick kept his head there until he was sure that the worst of it had passed and then, rather abruptly, lifted his head to face Alphaess again. "Refreshing." He absently wiped his hand across the lip of the mug to clear any blood or debris that might still be on it and then reached forth to snatch the mug by the handle. "Look, if you aren't going to drink anything, I'll have yours. But you'll be missing out," Flick added, with a note of mischievousness.
Whatever Felicity had done, the innkeeper surely seemed to be preparing something. Flick wasn't as interested, however, considering that the whole alcohol deal had rather sapped away his appetite. His leg was still quite tender to the touch and Flick refrained from moving it too much, for the fear that he might just aggravate the wound further. He assured that the wound was bound with his spare hand and then, with a slight shrug, lifted the glass to his lips and tilted it back. He had an abrupt reaction of a slight wince, for it had really been quite some time since Flick had last consumed any sorts of alcohol. Despite being a rather skinny, light guy he had built up a decent tolerance over the few years. He did, however, quail in comparison to much larger guys who had far more experience with drinking than he. Considering that Flick hadn't touched a drop for some time, his tolerance may have depleted over the months. Soon, there was the scent of some sort of meat cooking in the far room. To what sort of meat, Flick could not tell. He didn't exactly have wolf senses when it came to smelling types of foods. Whatever it was, the pair at least had a few minutes before the food arrived, and Flick intended to at least try and make Alphaess loosen up. After fighting a pack of little gray-skinned monsters, Flick thought this might be the best medicine. He'd try and deal with his wound by Will afterwards.
After a moment, Flick set the glass down and looked to Alphaess's drink. By the way she was acting, it almost seemed as though Alphaess might be afraid of touching alcohol. That was a particularly odd reaction. What could be so bad about a little drink? After all they'd been through (which, for not much time, was actually quite a lot) she at least needed to loosen up a little. As if to prompt her, Flick's hand hovered over the top of her drink as though he was teasing her like he was about to take it for himself. "Come on. Don't tell me Miss Alphaess is afraid of a little alcohol?" He lowered his hand slightly so that it was brushing just over the top of the glass. "It's just one glass. It's not going to kill you." He raised an eyebrow slightly in a rather inquiring manner. "Take it, or I will."

The Alphaess
❦ Hєяσιηє σƒ Kησтнσℓє Gℓα∂є ❦
➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳
Balverine hunter - Twenty-four years - the Guild
❧ Getting no reply for Flick had made Alphaess got rather disappointed. What she needed at the moment was something to get her mind off her rumbling stomach. She continued to sit still in her chair, her eyes going down the the wound Flick was trying to fix. Ah, come on, it was just a Hobbe. Alphaess thought, still thinking he was acting a little bit too frightened for it. She didn't even limped when she got the scar from the Hobbe's blade. This was a terrible idea coming here, Alphaess was still getting the thought every once in a while, and that was one of the reason she wanted to think about something else.
❧ You think battle wounds like this take two seconds to heal? Firstly, yes, if he did knew how to heal himself, it wouldn't even take two seconds. Than, secondly, who made him the battle expert? After going through this fierce battle with the three Hobbes had probably made him think he was the professionally one. Ah, men, always boasting. "My wounds heal pretty quickly." Alphaess replied shortly, rather proud of her strong immune system and fast healing ability, keeping her eyes on the woman that was approaching the table. Alphaess briefly looked up a the blonde barmaid but didn't said anything, not even gave a smile or a nod. Than her eyes flickered to the glasses. Great. Beer. She wasn't really the one that was into drinking, especially that she turned into a crazy drunken dog. That was something she wouldn't like to relive.
❧ Alphaess's eyes caught on to Flick, trying to understand what he was doing with the soaked piece of cloth, assuming it would be something... pretty painful. And yet, Alphaess's prediction was accurate. She watched him as he pressed him head down to his arm, her grimacing face turned into a slight smile with the view. He needed a whole lot more pain resistance if he wanted to be her apprentice. If he would continue hurting himself at this rate, he might even have one higher than Alphaess. She kept her smile after his first comment, not saying anything for it though. But, her smile faded away, as soon as he mentioned taking the other drink. Wait, no, no, Alphaess wasn't letting someone take something that was hers but... Oh, well, no. The heroine shot a glare to him, narrowing her eyes slightly. Ah, why she shouldn't just... let him drink that thing and be all free of trouble? It seems... even that Alphaess was ashamed to say this but... she actually wanted to drink it. Really wanted to have a sip. It had been such a long time...
❧ When the Flick lifted the glass, Alphaess had her eyes returned on him. She was somewhat surprised, seeing him drink that whole thing, pretty easily. That was... strange. Maybe impressive too. If you would call drinking a good and useful ability. Alphaess couldn't help but feel ashamed now. Even if he could drink and the mighty Balverine Slayer was simply afraid of touching the glass. Luckily, Alphaess's attention was drawn to something, and her eyes were quickly left Flick and turned to the direction where the inn-keeper was. The soft and beautiful scent of cooking meat had brushed to her nose, leaving her with a soft smile on face, taking a deep breath and nearly loosing herself. It was just... smelling so delicious. At this point, Alphaess had no regrets left now. At least until Flick's hand extended towards her drink. Again, she gave a glare to him, along with a uncomfortable low growling. What? Afraid. No way. She hated not being the one that made the teasing. It was just horrible. After spending a few seconds, looking down at the glass, than up, back at Flick, Alphaess finally made up her mind. With a growl, she spat: "Fine."
❧ Her hand moved to the handle and grabbed it tightly, pulling the glass towards her. What was she even doing. She was in a conclusion; one side wanted her to drink it all at once, just to show off to Flick, while the other told her to drop the glass as soon as possible. Probably, she was looking pretty dumb, staring down at the glass blankly. Her eyes went back on Flick one last time, before she finally took her courage and lifted the glass. Closing her eyes, she forced herself to drink, only managing to drink around the half of the glass. Quickly after, she put the glass back on the table, having a strange expression on her face. "There. Happy now?" She spat, shooting a glare back at Flick, wiping her lips afterwards with the back of her hand. Ugh, it felt... weird. Just half a glass. Not that bad. She wasn't going to drink more and hope not to get effected with that much. When was this meal going to come? Alphaess couldn't feel that tense if she wanted to. Wasn't the drink supposed to make her loosen up? Now, she was feeling even more tense and nervous.

Flick watched absently as Alphaess downed a bit of her drink but, apparently, had no intention of finishing further than half a glass. Even her words seemed rather testy when she spoke to him. Granted, that wasn't exactly uncharacteristic for Alphaess and yet she seemed a little more highstrung than usual. Tense. Nervous. It couldn't be because of Flick's wound, for there was no doubt in Flick's mind that the Heroine was merely laughing at his reaction to it. Flick's misfortune and clumsiness aside, he seldom got many wounds due to conartistry not exactly being the most dangerous profession. Sure, the odd bump or cut now and then but he didn't exactly want to get used to having an axe to the back of the knee. Alphaess probably thought he was overreacting, however, judging by the look on her face. So, Flick abruptly lowered his hands down from his knee and offered a feigned non-existant expression as though it didn't hurt at all. It wasn't easy playing the whole 'I'm fine' act when really, all Flick wanted to do was curl up and whine about how much his leg hurt. It really did, too. His pants were smeared with blood, giving him a sort of 'wild' and scrappy appearance. That, of course, was no different than usual. Flick always looked like a streetrat with the scruffy hair and haphazardly equipped clothing. Ah, but appearances were appearances, were they not? Flick liked to think the whole 'streetrat' thing was rather charming in a way. After all, it wasn't like he'd had too much difficulty drawing in a lot of tavern women in the past few years. Alphaess was different, of course. But she was...a different 'breed' of woman. Not like the usual 'smile-and-they're-yours- type. She actually seemed to have standards. Then again, perhaps Bowerstone ladies were just easy game.
"Oooh. Impressive," Flick said in a cheeky and sarcastic manner, reaching out to grab his pretty-much empty glass and tilt it back to finish whatever liquid remained in the mug. There was really only a drop or two and, upon finishing, Flick lowered it and rolled his eyes in a teasing manner towards Alphaess. Regardless of her hardened exterior she did seem to have a weakness when it came to being challenged in any way. "Don't worry 'bout it." Flick added after a moment, lazily lowering the glass and swirling the remaining bit of liquid at the bottom (the remaining bit in a glass which, no matter how many times you tried to drink, would never quite disappear).
Whilst Flick spoke, apparently whatever the tavern man had been prepping was now finished. The same woman who'd given them the drinks returned with a basic beigeish white plate in her right hand. Upon it, there seemed to be some sort of meat which Flick could not recognize...some sort of red meat at any rate. For an odd reason, the very smell of the meat made Flick a little weird-feeling. Nauseous, in a way. He refrained from making a face, however, in an act to be polite considering that this was free food. But, he was still himself. Flick glanced up to the woman once she'd set down the plate and offered a slight 'charming' grin: "Thanks, sweetheart. Is there any chance we could have another drink?" To this, the woman did not respond verbally but instead gave a small nod to Flick and whirled about back to the back room.
"See? I'm charming." Flick added once the woman had gone, looking back to Alphaess with the slightest quirk of his eyebrow. He made a move to take another sip of his drink but obviously forgetting there was nothing left. Flick frowned at the empty glass and briefly stared at it, as though he couldn't quite believe it was completely gone. Then he snorted and set it back on the table, leaning back slightly. Okay, sure. Flick had a strong alcohol tolerance in the past. There was a chance that had changed a bit now, for either he was getting a bit woozy due to the wound and had simply forgotten he'd already drunken his drink or...he was starting to get a little out of it. Flick distractedly fiddled with his shortly-cropped brown/blonde hair with his fingers. Hm. It seemed a little longer than usual. Then again, that was probably due to his time spent with Alphaess and not actually having returned to Bowerstone to get a proper cut. He could probably do it himself but, whenever he did that, it was always a little choppy. Then again, Flick's hair was always quite choppy. It was rather odd that Flick was noticing this now...
Soon, the same woman had returned with two more glasses of the same amber-coloured, frothing liquid. Flick glanced at it distractedly, as though weighing his options. Maybe a little. Flick pulled the closest mug towards him and took a small sip, though only about a quarter way down. Then, he pushed it away. He'd probably had enough. He was enough of a hindrance with his injured leg and he didn't think Alphess would appreciate it if he got downright drunk, either. So, Flick merely distracted himself with focusing again on his knee wound. Maybe he could figure out this Will 'healing' thing. Mm...what had she done again? Ah, right. Contact. Flick pressed his hand to the top of his bent knee, but not without adding a daring comment of: "I've had a drink or two with some tavern women in the past. They never got past the first drink."

The Alphaess
❦ Hєяσιηє σƒ Kησтнσℓє Gℓα∂є ❦
➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳
Balverine hunter - Twenty-four years - Greatwood
❧ It wasn't a good feeling to be challenged in a way Alphaess could not compete. Alphaess would take any bet or challenge. Anytime, anywhere. She always had a weakness for them. But, when it came to things about alcohol, Alphaess was always the looser. Not quite always, but after a certain event in her life. She had returned Flick's teasing with an angry glare, the type of glare that would give someone shivers. She might not be making much progress in this little 'challenge' but still she was the Alphaess, the feral heroine that was feared by many. Her eyes were on Flick as he took the glass once more.At the second comment, she only growled something under her breath, more likely a few curses that only she could hear. Right now, she had a strong desire to drink up the remaining half of the drink, just to show him how things went around here. She was not a loser. And would never be.
❧ Luckily, before Alphaess could hear more of Flick's comments or do something that probably wouldn't turn out well, the barmaid returned with a plate, giving off the delicious scent that made Alphaess lick her lips. Her eyes were now locked on the plate, not able to notice anything else until the plate was placed in front of her. It was quite a lot of amount for a normal person to eat, but... it was Alphaess's hunger. She hardly, very hardly managed to stop herself from pulling the plate to her side and attacking it like an animal, waiting for the woman to leave first. Her hungry eyes turned back on Flick, when she heard him talking again, able to notice the slight grin on face. Now, she couldn't help but slightly smile, barely holding a laugh back when she heard him after the woman left. Holding the unexpected laughter had caused her to cough a few times, rolling her eyes slightly. "I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with the fact we saved the innkeeper's daughter." She spoke in a sarcastic way, grining once again, the whole drink deal not even in her mind. She didn't really think we was the correct word to use, since Flick was playing with some Hobbes while Alphaess did most of the job. But, probably, she wouldn't be here if he wasn't there either.
❧ Shaking her head slightly with a sigh, her eyes went back down the plate, glancing up at Flick for a second. "I think you wouldn't mind if I'll take this to my side." Without letting any time for Flick to respond, her hand extended out and gripped the plate and swiftly, pulled it across the table, placing it in front of her. Instantly after, the Heroine let out the animal inside, starting to eat it as she was in a rush; taking big bites from the meat she grabbed with her two hands that were still covered with the gauntlets she didn't felt like taking off and swallowing each bite after just chewing a few times. It meat was soft, tasty and well-cooked, not burnt nor over-cooked. Well, she was going to visit this place again sometime for sure, she haven't really ate meat that good for a quite long time. For a second or two, while still eating a little less hungrily, she had silently looked up at Flick, who was playing with his dirty blonde hair, distractedly. His words had came to her mind once again. She never gave it a thought but... if she were to think about it, Flick might actually be... a little charming. Maybe? Alphaess was the type that never cared much about the opposite gender but, if she ever decided to care a little bit more, she definitely wouldn't like a buff man. One, she never liked the looks, two, she never liked being over-powered. Even the fact Flick being taller than her was driving her crazy.
❧ Dealing with some odd thoughts while she continued to eat, the woman had returned with another two glasses. It was only him that wanted the drink, now her. Great. More challenge for Alphaess to try her will. Alphaess was about to finish the plate in the short amount of time as Flick waited for his drink. When the drinks were set on the wooden surface,Alphaess pushed away the now-empty plate away from her, wiping her mouth with the back of her gauntlet (no one could expect Alphaess to carry a napkin everywhere). She noticed that Flick pressed his hand on his knee, looking much like he was going to try something. With her teeth gritting slightly, she tried to ignore the comment, for now at least and got up on her feet. Than, grabbing from the back of the chair, she pulled it closer to his and sat back down. Glancing up at Flick, she spoke with a voice where she tried to hide the anger and annoyance she had for everything Flick: "Let's just get you fixed up, so I won't have to wait for you to walk like a tortoise." With a short huff, she pushed back her hair and continued speaking after a short pause. "Try to learn a thing or two, or help me out with this." She said with an emotionless voice, looking back up to Flick. "The healing abilities require you to focus on a more 'positive' way, instead of destructive way; unless you want to burn your knee." She lectured, having a cold and emotionless look and a matching voice. She couldn't always heal him up, so, instead of just healing him, she wanted to teach him how to do it. "They are always pretty hard, at least for me, but try to think about good stuff, things you like and calming things." She almost murmured the at least for me part. She was never able to get the more helpful spells really good. She was a fighter, not much of a healer.
❧ Growing somewhat bored of all the speaking, she looked back down at his bent knee with his hand on top than raised a hand and quickly placed it right above his, definitely not quite enjoying this moment. She could feel the warmth of his hand slightly under the thick gauntlet she wore, which made her feel quite... strange. Not in a good way of strange either. He better not take this as any other way. Her eyes closed shut, and the heroine let out a soft breath. What she thought about while she focused? Well, that was one question she wouldn't answer. Her hobbies or likes weren't quite... suitable for this task anyway. So she had to... think about some certain people, the ones that she felt... close and... safe. Shortly after, there was a soft, pleasant glow above his knee that died down quickly and once it did, the heroine's eyes flickered open, pulling back her hand at the same moment, not intending to keep his hand under hers for more longer. Afterwards, she pushed her chair slightly backwards without getting up on her feet, but didn't returned back to her original spot. She didn't wanted to leave him any time to do any more of his cheeky comments, so Alphaess quickly returned her focus back on the table and grabbed the glass, half full with the amber colored liquid.
❧ With a quick move, she lifted the glass and tilted back, finishing what remained in the glass. To be honest, Alphaess had no idea why she did it either, probably afraid of any comment Flick might make there and tried to get the attention on something else. And because that he tried to compare her to some tavern woman. Also, oddly, she felt like it was the correct thing to do. She wanted more as she laid the glass down on the table, flashing a grin at Flick after. "What were you saying about getting past the first drink?" She reached to pull the other glass towards her. She probably really shouldn't do it, but, it was too late. The glass had been lifted up to her lips. But this time, after the half was drunken, Alphaess winced slightly and had to put the glass back on the table. Her action was fallowed by an unstoppable hiccup that Alphaess tried to stop by covering her mouth but no avail. A strange grin was spread on Alphaess's face, hinting that this was going nowhere good at all.

Flick turned his attention to Alphaess momentarily as she got up from her chair to approach him, and he startled a little as she spoke to him. Flick briefly considered making a comment about her 'warming up' to him or something similar, but eventually decided against it. If there was one person you didn't want mad at you, it was someone who possibly had the ability to scald your skin off. And Alphaess was definitely in the position to do that. But Flick couldn't help a small: "I don't walk like a tortoise..." Under his breath, he added: "More like a wounded stray dog or something." Aside from that, he took to Alphaess's advice and paid attention whilst she lectured him. It was true that Flick would have to get used to the idea of Alphaess treating him like a lesser or, at least, a 'student' of sorts while his training was ongoing. But Flick liked to more or less think she'd warm up to him soon enough and stop thinking of it like a 'dominant' thing and rather a partnership. She would eventually, right? Mm...it would probably take a lot of work, but Flick was always up for a challenge.
Once Alphaess had stopped speaking, she suddenly lifted her hand and put it atop his, much to his surprise. Flick glanced over at Alphaess with a bewildered expression, but noticed that she'd already closed her eyes. He frowned, then refocused his attention to where her hand was on top of his and watched the familiar pinkish glow that emitted from her hand. He did not feel much at first aside from a weird sort of ticklish feeling around the tender flesh of the wound and then, a few heartbeats after, a rather uncomfortable feeling that was presumably the skin knitting itself together. Flick resisted the urge to buck his knee, for it was not exactly a painful feeling but rather a very, very uncomfortable one. So, Flick said nothing, and instead stayed silent upon Alphaess finally removing her hand in a haste as though she couldn't bear to have her hand atop his for a moment longer.
However, unexpectedly, Alphaess snatched up the half-full glass of beer and finished the remains. Flick raised an eyebrow inquisitively, coming to the realization: his taunting had actually gotten to her. God, he should've thought of this earlier. It was clear enough that Alphaess seemed to dislike being 'beaten' in any sort of challenge, regardless of what it was. Flick wasn't a big lover for losing either, but he was more used to it than Alphaess was. He had a hunch that being compared to lowly tavern woman would cause her to be a little agitated and, offering a slight smile in response, Flick leaned back upon his chair and kicked his now-healed leg up on the edge of the table. Sure, it was probably a rude gesture but they were guests here! Flick could at least take advantage of this while it lasted. To Alphaess's words, Flick could only offer a small innocent shrug and watched as she downed half of the other glass. Already, she'd downed more than Flick could manage. Either she had a good tolerance or she was just outright trying to best Flick...but it seemed to be the latter. For, upon lowering it, she seemed...different.
"Uh," Flick glanced around back at the people at the far end of the inn and carefully put one arm on the edge of the table, leaning forward slightly. "Red, are you...feeling alright?" He studied her for a brief moment before leaning back, a little confused. He couldn't imagine that the Balverine Slayer of all people would be downed by a glass and a half of ale. Sure, Flick wasn't feeling one hundred percent himself, but the mugs were fairly large and the ale seemed to have a fairly large percentage of alcohol. He cupped a hand over the top of his own unfinished glass and moved it slightly towards himself, almost involuntarily. It wasn't like he thought Alphaess was going to take it or anything, but she seemed unlike herself. The hiccuping, the grinning. She couldn't already be intoxicated, could she? She obviously wasn't one of the huge Hero men with bulging muscles that probably weighed hundreds of pounds, but she had to have some tolerance from being a Hero for some years. And yet...she seemed almost hypersensitive to just a glass and a half.
Furthermore, some of the men at the table in the corner had taken notice. There were six men altogether; four at one table and two at their own separate tables with their chairs slightly tugged up to the main table so that they may see what was going on in the game. They were all quite large men who easily dwarfed Flick in size (not necessarily just height, either) and the same type of men who Flick would probably avoid if he came across on the streets. These were the type of the men who could squash him into a pulp if Flick happened to anger them, but the men seemed more interested in the fact that there was actually a woman here. A slightly intoxicated one, nonetheless. Flick distractedly traced his finger along the rim of the glass and looked up to Alphaess once more. "Maybe we've both had enough..." He suggested in a placid voice, as though clearly trying to keep his voice down. It wasn't like he hadn't been flat out drunk before. He'd never passed out or thrown up from being drunk, but he'd been pretty close as well. And, when Flick was intoxicated to that point, he was himself but...more extreme. More flirty, more confident, louder...just about all of those and more. Flick had even mistaken a male bartender for female and tried to call him 'sweetheart' at one point, only to have to make a quick getaway from the inn after that. Oh, it surely wasn't pretty. But Flick could imagine that an intoxicated Alphaess would be a hell of a lot worse.

❧ "Hm, what?" Alphaess questioned in a rather cheerful way, quite unlike her usual cold and distanced self, looking back at Flick slightly confused with his question. She had leaned back on her chair, looking pretty comfortable there, too. It took a little bit more than a sew seconds for her to finally understand the question. "Oh, yeah, yeah, I'm feeling... great! Why did you eve -hick- even asked?" She replied with a wide grin on face. She didn't seem to be able to stop herself from hiccuping or loosing that stupid-looking grin on her face. If Alphaess actually knew that she would get into such position, she would probably tell Flick about her sensitivity against alcohol. Or probably not. With all the pride she had, it wasn't surprising that the heroine have forgotten to mention her little 'secret'. Yes, this always made Alphaess get embarrassed, especially back at the Guild training. Actually, she had worked on this for a while, after getting sick of all the teasing she had and managed to keep herself sober after a glass, just one little glass, no more, but it was quite a time ago. And Alphaess had simply chosen to avoid drinking, but now, she had been challenged. She couldn't just say no to one. She had also already passed her limit. And the mugs were... pretty large.
❧ With another hiccup, Alphaess's eyes turned back to the table, as she was looking for her half drink. She extended her hand to grab it once again, but missed the handle by a little. And she thought she had good aim, able to shoot three arrows at once if she was concentrated enough, and all getting a kill. Now, she couldn't even catch the handle of a mug. The heroine leaned forward to grab the drink and pulled it towards her more. She tightly gripped it and took it between two hands, tried to move it towards her lips but stopped when she heard Flick's voice, or so she thought it was him. Averting her eyes from the glass, she looked up at Flick, rather surprised, again. "Enough? C'mon, it's just one glass and... ugh..." Alphaess paused for a second, like she had forgotten how much she have drunken already, looking at the empty glasses that were yet to be collected by the barmaid and appeared to be counting. At least trying to count. "One and two! Just two glasses. For now. Don't tell me you're afraid already." Her voice was a bit... to loud and a little odd, giving off that she had already had too much of those drinks, but wasn't planning to stop yet. Before waiting for any reply, the remaining drink was downed already. Alphaess's grin was even more wide as she set the glass on the table and turning her eyes to Flick.
❧ "Was it fun to get butchered by a munchkin?" Alphaess questioned, raising a burrow slightly, resting one arm on the table and her gaze on Flick. The drunken Alphaess was a time-bomb. She appeared to be cheerful and talkative, laughing and pestering the ones around. But, this was just the cover. She was getting just more aggressive and violent without her humanly side faded away with the effect of the alcohol. Without even dropping the strange smile or hysterical laughters. If someone would do something she wouldn't allow, like touching her without permission (which was the biggest crime in her book) she wouldn't be afraid to show what this heroine could do and how much a human bone could take before breaking. If lucky, it would be a leg or arm, if the couldn't protect their neck from the feral 'beast' too bad for them. And after all this, Alphaess still would be laughing. "It would leave a good scar you know -hick- But don't worry, you'll be able to get more later." Alphaess said as it was a good thing to get scars, leaning forwards slightly as speaking in a pretty excited manner. She had plenty of scars from her inexperienced times. "I have many, too." Alphaess looked around for a second and put her hand on the left side of her neck, right over a barely visible scar, received pretty long ago for sure. "A Nymph, beautiful creatures. At least was until I cut her little pretty head off." Alphaess said, enjoying sharing her stories at the moment. "There should be a Rock Troll somewhere..." She murmured, thinking for a second, thinking about... where her scar was. "Or was it an Earth Troll?"
❧ "I really don't remember, but I can show you my coolest scar instead." Alphaess grinned and raised her left arm and tried put it over her shoulder that was covered by her black shawl. "Wh-where is my damn arm?" She said, trying to find her arm under the shawl, after a few seconds, she was finally able to find her arm under the shawl by simply pulling the shawl off. But, Alphaess seem to be rather disappointed as she searched for something one her arm, close to her shoulder. "Ugh... now where is the scar? My arm band isn't here either..." She turned her gaze on Flick, confused and waiting for him to tell her the mystery of the lost scar. Which in real was not lost, but was hidden under the arm band on her other arm. "The one with a balverine symbol that I never take off?" She raised a burrow slightly, starting to look around, completely confused at the moment.

Flick's eyes widened slightly at Alphaess's response, startled by the fact that the Heroine seemed cheerful. It wasn't even the cruel type of happy she occasionally had, but a downright happy, sort of nutty type of happy. It was great that Alphaess had lightened up and all, but this was weird. Flick wasn't sure if he was about to burst out laughing or just stare. So, he did the latter and looked at the Heroine in a bit of a shock, unable to really think how he might respond. Had he known Alphaess was to become intoxicated so easily he might not have pushed her into drinking. His own glass remained half full, however, but Flick didn't touch it. No, if Alphaess was really...drunk...then he at least needed to have his wits if they were to get back to her house in one piece. But, seeing as Alphaess couldn't even grab her drink in one shot. She'd held it up to her lips and looked at him with what seemed to be surprise. She couldn't even count how much she'd already drank! This was treasure gold for Flick. He prepared to say something but his voice died out as she downed the last of her drink, setting it back onto the table. Then she turned to him.
"Uh, you're asking this now?" Flick inquired hesitantly. He looked over Alphaess briefly while she set her arm upon the table and looked to him. He still wasn't sure exactly how to react. If he told her she'd had enough, she might take it badly and if he 'humoured' her she might do something she could possibly regret later. Then again, it wasn't exactly Flick's problem. After she'd almost broken his wrist from a simple 'misunderstanding' (that was how Flick referred to it at any rate) Flick was aiming to get a little payback and this situation might just be the best chance he'd get. Flick watched as Alphaess leaned forward a bit, apparently trying to show off her multitude of scars.
Once again, Flick's attention was drawn to the men at the back. They had most definitely taken attention now, and Flick was beginning to worry that they might approach them. Surely they wouldn't start a fight, but a drunken woman was always easy game for any type of flirting. Drunken or not, however, Flick didn't think Alphaess would take to that. But Flick's attention was refocused upon Alphaess at 'Wh-where is my damn arm?' Oh god, she was really out of it. Flick started to say: "Uhm, Alphaess." He actually referred to her by name this time, which was probably a sign that he was being totally serious. Flick jerked his chin in the direction of the table at the back. "Might wanna...ehr, keep it down. Your scars are fabulously interesting and all, but we don't really want any unwanted attention." Man, she really looked confused. If Flick wasn't so focused on trying to appear serious, he would've laughed. "Right?"
Too late. There was the sound of a screeching chair moving back as the man closest to them got out of his chair. Flick stiffened a little and sat back in his own chair, slowly removing his legs from the table and cupping a hand over his fuller glass of beer. The man was a little taller than Flick, but not by much...maybe half an inch or even less. He had sort of mouse-brown hair with a dusty sort of gray to it and a scraggly stubble that was sort of patchy and ragged, unlike whatever Flick could claim to have. His eyes were a dark colour, almost a black and he was rather scrawny-looking. Like Flick, but perhaps more of the 'stray dog who doesn't eat very often' type of scrawny. His shoulders were sharp and partially visible through a not-very-well-kempt gray shirt. He had a loose leather belt that slid askew upon his hips and, hooked lazily in an iron sheathe, he had what looked to be something between a dagger and a shortsword.
"Mind if I sit down?" The man questioned in a voice that was unlike anything Flick had heard before. It was ragged and sort of raspy, but the man couldn't have been older than thirty or forty. He did not wait for Flick or Alphaess's response but instead took the seat to the right of Flick, where he'd previously had his leg kicked up on so that he was directly in-between Alphaess and Flick. Up close, Flick noticed he had the strong smell of alcohol about him and he wasn't exactly the cleanest person in the world. Flick wasn't squeaky clean either, but at least he had some sort of sense of hygiene. This man's hair was a total mess and he had the appeal that he might've slept in some sort of gutter or sewer for the last few days. Flick wrinkled his nose and leaned back majorly in his chair to avoid taking in any more of the man's awful aroma. Flick had only just started to speak, but the man beat him to it: "So...come here often?" This was clearly pointed to Alphaess, as the man seemed to ignore Flick altogether like he wasn't even there. Flick made a face and crossed his arms. What a lame pick-up line...but he said nothing. If it seemed like Alphaess was so intoxicated that she might not be able to decipher that this man was bad news, he might say something. Until then, he'd rather not. Flick set his jaw uncomfortably as the man put an arm atop the surface of the table and leaned forward slightly with a gap-toothed grin, quite a bit close into Alphaess's personal space.

The Alphaess
❦ Hєяσιηє σƒ Kησтнσℓє Gℓα∂є ❦

Balverine hunter - Twenty-four years - Greatwood
❧ After a little bit looking around, Alphaess seem to forgotten what she was even looking for, now her eyes were on a small stain on the glass. Curiously, Alphaess had taken the empty glass in her hand, inspecting it carefully while holding it close to her face. "This stain really smells strange. It smells like..." She paused, hearing Flick calling her by her actual name. She lowered the glass that blocked her face from his view and tilted her head slightly to the side with a grin, she felt strangely happy about him finally using her name instead of stupid nicknames, but that was probably because she was not quite in her normal state of thinking right now. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." Alphaess murmured, boredly leaving the glass on the table, not actually listened the part after he addressed her. Her eyes wandered around the place, her eyes now catching on the decorations; a deer head hung on wall. "That thing look pretty tasty, have I ever told you about my hunting trips?" She asked with a smile, staring back at the serious-looking Flick like not even caring if he was trying to act serious or not.
❧ Alphaess was about to tell about one of her very interesting hunting trips, which consisted of her bring down a great buck alone. At the age of nine. Or maybe eight? She really couldn't tell when it was. But it was quite entertaining, at least for little R-- Alphaess. Yeah, she might have forgotten that she wasn't using the name Alphaess by that time. But, rather rudely, was interrupted by a man, standing somewhere... around? It took a second for Alphaess to locate the man, who had already taken a seat right in front of Alphaess, in a uncomfortably close distance. But, like nothing had happened, Alphaess remained her grin, just, in fact, her grin was different from the cheerful one two seconds ago. This one was more like when she told scaring stories and other unpleasant things to Flick, which was quite interesting for Alphaess. A more... devilish grin, which she usually had while she did things she enjoyed, like slaying stuff, large amount of stuff. Her eyes almost sparked in a gold color as they were turned on the intruder. From top to bottom, she inspected him carefully, keeping the grin on face. The looks of the man was telling much about him already and the smell was... just hurting Alphaess's sensitive nose with the strong scent of alcohol.
❧ Upon the question, Alphaess slightly leaned towards the table, trying to get a little bit further away from him, to make it easier to control herself, and to avoid that awful scent. She had her elbow on the table and hand up, supporting her head as she rested it above her hand. "Not really." She replied with a grin, eyes still on the man, carefully. For a second, her eyes went down to his belt, where the sheath was hanging. It made her grin get wider, like she was enjoying the moment, but instead, she had other plans that were quite different from the man's plans. She seem to be quite calm with all the fact he was so close at the moment. She leaned a little bit more towards the table to see Flick at the other side of the table as her view was mostly blocked by the man. She could sense he was rather uncomfortable, tense even. It just made Alphaess feel more joy.
❧ But, like it wasn't enough, the man comfortably placed an arm on the table and leaned forward. Too close. But, not enough for Alphaess to snap. Alphaess's animal side was about to kick in, carving a fight more than everything, ready to show itself with a little bit more provocation. She did felt a little uncomfortable with the man's this action, but didn't moved from her current position for a second, than leaned back, trying to avoid the breath of the man which actually had an even worse scent. "Uh, you might want to... take a step back. Or two. I'm not quite good with sharing personal space." Alphaess warned in a serious voice, though still having a slight grin on her face.
