◣xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx◢ Flick only took a few brief moments to catch his breath, and draw awareness to every single pain in his body. The back of his shirt had been ripped open by one of Quiver's arrows, leaving a nice tear just where his spine was to expose the skin from his left side to his right, just above the small of his back. It was not too bad, though, so Flick wasn't embarrassed in the slightest. He was embarrassed, however, for the fact that he was lying on his back in the dirt after being beaten by a man shorter than him...His arms ached from having held up the shortsword so long and his forearms were laced with bruises from Quiver's blade (having struck him with the flat of the sword as to not cut him), his legs felt like jelly and there was still that cut on his collarbone that stung quite a bit...it wasn't bleeding anymore, but it had cut quite close to the bone (considering it was an area where the bone was close to the surface).
At last, Flick heaved a sigh and jerked up so that he was sitting up. Flick grabbed the shortsword at his side and got to his feet, trying not to sway at all. Thankfully, he managed, but it did not lessen the fact that he was feeling majorly beat up right now. Quiver was looking boredly in Flick's direction as he awaited the con-man to get up. Once the man had gotten up he stepped forward to offer Quiver his sword by the hilt and, after a moment, Quiver took it and held it in his right hand.
"Right. Follow me. I won't be doing this one with you, so you might have to wait a bit until the Guildmaster shows up." Quiver placed his own blue sword into his sword sheathe which was strapped at his belt, and he promptly passed Flick by to head out of the arena. As he did so, he swung open the gate and cast a look in Alphaess and Silvermoon's direction, which was either a 'this-guy-is-screwed' or just merely a look to check if they were watching or not. He paused to wait on Flick to follow and then, once Flick was behind him, the two headed up towards the Will arena.
It was not a ring, but more like a small 'field' area. The grass seemed even greener here, and it was in a rather circular shape surrounded by water beyond. On the edge of the clearing there was several straw-filled dummies, marked with paint and different colours. They stood upon sticks, and Flick was uncertain exactly what the purpose of them was...upon Quiver stepping into the clearing it startled a crow that was perched upon the arm of one of the dummies. The crow gave a harsh cry and, in an explosion of wings, it lurched shakily into the air and soared away above Flick's head.
"Wait here. This is your final segment of the test." Quiver said at last, turning his crisp blue gaze back in Flick's direction. The man rolled his shoulders slightly with the faintest quirk of his lip. "Good luck." Then, with a last 'wave' in Flick's direction, the man headed down the hill back in the direction of a hill, passing by the other two Heroes without a word. Maybe he was disappointed...it was difficult to tell.

The Alphaess
❦ Hєяσιηє σƒ Kησтнσℓє Gℓα∂є ❦
➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳
Balverine hunter - Twenty-four years - the Guild
❧ When Quiver and Flick have left the arena, Silvermoon had started to talk to Alphaess. While she let him go on with his important argument about her companion actually being a Frost Balverine (whenever these two met, Silvermoon claimed that the beast was one of the creatures that terrorized Snowspire village instead of a White Balverine) instead. Alphaess's eyes were locked on Flick as he made his way to the Will area, ignoring Silvermoon for a second.
❧ "Are you even listening?" Silvermoon's question snapped Alphaess out and made her get her focus on him. "You've lost me a few years ago." Alphaess said with an eye-roll. Much like Quiver, Alphaess returned his behavior with simply ignoring the archer hero as he passed by, while Silvermoon tried to nicely dip his head to the fellow hero. Luckily, from where they had been standing, the little water-surrounded area was visible easily. This time, Alphaess haven't returned her gaze on him as they waited.
❧ Though the wait did not last too long, the Guildmaster showed up hardly five minutes after Quiver was out of view. The old man was wearing his usual black and white robe with the Guild symbol. With a slow pace and casual way, he fallowed the path that lead to the Will training area, but stopped a little sides from the two heroes. Respectfully Silvermoon dipped his head, while Alphaess just avoided her gaze from his face but barely managing a frown from appearing on her face.
❧ "Morning, Silvermoon... Alphaess." The Guildmaster spoke with a calm way and he also dipped his head slightly to the male hero when he said his name, but when it came to Alphaess, he simply did nothing. He just stood there for a couple of seconds, waiting for a reply, but Alphaess averted her eyes from reaching his. "...Alphaess, I would like you to stay during the test." The Guildmaster have spoken with a rather dominant and unimpressed way. With a quick mumbling; "As you wish." Alphaess dipped her head at last, and afterwards turned her gaze to Silvermoon. "If you excuse me now, I shall leave to rest now."
❧ Before leaving Alphaess with the Guildmaster, Silvermoon have managed to add a small Good luck. Alphaess did not had any time to reply though, if she did, she would just let a loud sigh and roll her eyes probably. The Guildmaster than started walking towards the Will training area than, Alphaess fallowing closely behind silently and in a surrendering way. It was weird for her to be the submissive one in the pack...
❧ The Guildmaster approached Flick with a rather unpleased look on face. He gave a disgraceful look down to his rippled clothing, guessing the earlier test did not went very well. "Felix, I do hope you are ready for next test" He have spoken with a calm voice now, despite his look. Alphaess stood on his side, a bit behind him, stoically.
❧ "Now, as you may or may not know, Will is a source of energy that may be used to shape and effect our surroundings" The Guildmaster spoke with his eyes locked at Flick and hands held in front of himself. "Alphaess, if you now please." His gaze turned at Alphaess, asking for a demonstration from the heroine. "With pleasure." Alphaess replied half-heartedly. Alphaess closed her golden eyes for two seconds to fully concentrate. Than, her eyes opened, her eyes were looking in a brighter gold than usual. A hand raised and extended towards one of the stray dummies with a breath held, aiming directly at the red marked center. She let her breath, when suddenly, a beam of white lightning with a tint of gold was shot towards the dummy she aimed at. The dummy moved back and forth with cracking voices as it was struck by the Will-lightning. Alphaess looked at the dummy with a ungrateful look on her face. The lightning... Which reminded how Flick killed one of the biggest bandit leaders... More importantly, how she failed to kill one of the biggest bandit leaders.
❧ Alphaess turned her gaze back on the Guildmaster rather boredly, not looking at Flick for the moment. "Try it yourself now; try to focus on unleashing the power of Will from your fingertips and aim for the training dummy." the Guildmaster asked, not in a very demanding way he usually speak to Alphaess with. If the Guildmaster wasn't here, Alphaess would say some scaring stories about this first Will test; like once how one apprentice almost fried himself. Her hand went on the sheath of her weapon again to rest as she waited for the 'show' to begin. She did not enjoyed being this close though; she had a rather bad feeling about being inside the training area instead of around it like the last test.

◣xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx◢ The Guildmaster had soon arrived, causing a start to run through Flick's body. Not only would he be embarrassing himself in front of Alphaess (thankfully Silvermoon and Quiver had both left, so that was two less people) but now the Guildmaster was here. He wore the usual black and white robe with the symbol of the Guild upon it. He had greeted both Alphaess and Silvermoon rather respectfully, though Alphaess had responded with near curtness. It still was strange to Flick as to why she treated the Guildmaster like such, but there was a good chance that the con-man would never get the chance to find out. He would fail this test, be booted out and...things would go back to normal. Shouldn't Flick be glad? He was a con-man, after all. Flick shouldn't care about doing work...being a Hero, doing good deeds. It had just been a silly fantasy in his head that he had known would never come to pass. After all, who had heard of a merchant ever becoming a Hero, or ever fending for themselves? Or, perhaps, Flick was just assuring himself because he really did not want to face the fact that, really, Flick had always had some sort of attachment to the Guild.
But those thoughts were silly. Flick disregarded them for the moment and snapped his attention back towards the Guildmaster and Alphaess. Yet...Flick could not ignore that expression on the Guildmaster's face, for certainly he had seen his ripped clothing and rather exhausted appearance. He barely took heed of the Guildmaster using his full name, Felix, and merely just nodded. It probably was not very proper for him to just be 'nodding' to a figure of superiority, but that was all he could manage in the moment. Flick would worry about his manners later, for 'manners' had really never been an issue for Flick for the entirety of his life. Con-men...didn't really care about that, unless it was an act. Flick had done plenty of 'acts' and fake characters before this, but he got the nagging suspicion that a drama contest was not exactly going to be part of his test. The Guildmaster proceeded to explain the extents of Will (Flick, surprisingly, knew quite a bit about this already) and then gestured to Alphaess to do an example. Flick was not sure what he expected, but it was certainly not what Alphaess did. As it seemed, lightning had literally shot from her fingertips. Lightning...this certainly reminded Flick of the scenario back at the bandit camp, but maybe now was not the time to think of that. Besides, he had the use of actual nature lightning back then, and this was lightning he had to...what, summon up? Flick was a dead man. This wasn't a thing he could just...do.
But, as it seemed, Flick had no other choice. Once Alphaess had finished with her demonstration, it must be Flick's turn. He clenched his hands into fists at his sides with the added anxiety that the Guildmaster was here, sucked up his courage, and gave a small nod. "Uhm, right..." And Flick stepped up a little ways past Alphaess to approach the dummies. Well, this could not be that hard...right? Alphaess had done it with ease. Yet, she was a Heroine and Flick was just...himself. What had she even done? Just 'magically' managed to summon lightning and zap the straw-filled dummies. It was not that easy for a person such as Flick. Things could not just happen like that without training, and he very well knew it. Flick set his jaw and looked on over at the other two. Now was as good a time as any, he supposed. Flick had already embarrassed himself enough...so, what would this hurt? Well, his pride for one. Whatever scraps of dignity he had left would probably be obliterated. Ah--but he was getting ahead of himself now.
Try to focus on 'unleashing' the power of Will? How the hell does that work? Flick thought to himself as he looked at the dummies with a vacant expression. Flick stole a moment to glance at his hands as if he expected something magical to happen which, in the end, did not. Nothing was happening. Flick hesitantly lifted his right hand and pointed it in the direction of the nearest dummy. "Zap. It's not working." If he tried 'concentrating' anymore, he was going to have an aneurysm. 'Imagining' the lighting did not exactly happen to help him much, either. Flick straightened his back slightly and lowered his hand. What the hell was he thinking? This was stupid. Nothing was happening, and nothing was going to.
But just as Flick turned to say so to the Guildmaster and Alphaess, something did happen. It was kind of the 'hair stands up on the back of your neck', tingly stomach sensation which made someone feel as though an impending storm were bound to occur just then. He had lifted his hand to 'prove' that nothing was happening when the most bewildering thing did happen. A start ran up Flick's forearm as though it had just awoken after being asleep for a long period of time. He felt almost as though he may have missed a moment of time there, or even blacked out for a second or two. There was a crrk-zap! And a force that quite literally knocked Flick onto his ass from where he'd been standing.

The Alphaess
❦ Hєяσιηє σƒ Kησтнσℓє Gℓα∂є ❦
➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳
Balverine hunter - Twenty-four years - the Guild
❧ Every single apprentice started their Will training with this one spell, Lightning, because of one reason; it was the easiest spell in the book. There was no need to shape or manipulate the will into another form of energy. It was pure Will power that did not need any skill, other than aiming the target, which was usually easy. This have been the same for decades, maybe even centuries.
❧ Shortly after the Guildmaster's request, Flick have stepped up past Alphaess to aim. He had to accomplish this one if he wanted to stay, it was the last chance the Guildmaster would give. Alphaess had her eyes locked on Flick, strangely enough, she wished silently that he would be able to do this. Her hand grabbed the hilt of the swords tightly as she felt rather uneasy and nervous. A few seconds passed as she watched him try, but still, there was nothing. Nothing. Perhaps, he did not possessed the blood of the first Will user. It was a mistake to bring him here even. Alphaess still had a little bit of hope left, and she was about to start yell a thing or two at Flick for not focusing enough.
❧ Than, the most unexpected thing for Alphaess (maybe even the Guildmaster who had done nothing more than silently watching Flick form a distance) happened all of a sudden. A beam of lightning was sent out, fallowing the direction Flick's arm was pointing in the air. The heroine's eyes widened in shock, seeing he did it. He was a will user... Not even an average one either.
❧ But once again, things haven't gone as expected. Missing the nearest dummy by a few inches, the lightning struck something else, a stone as Alphaess could see. The lightning have bounced off the stone, how, Alphaess didn't even know. Than, the stone, like a mirror, deflected the lightning but not towards the summoner, right at Alphaess. If she did not had the reflexes of a beast and had her hand on her blade, she would be shot directly from the chest.
❧ The heroine's eyes widened, but did not gave any noise of distress; not even the slightest gasp or yell came out of her mouth. As her instincts told her, quickly her sword was drawn from its sheath. Raising the silvery blade up to her chest, Alphaess have managed to avoid the lightning. As it hit, Alphaess felt the force push her backwards, but the heroine managed to stay on her feet. The lightning traveled along the metal blade of the weapon, fallowing it until it reached the pointy tip. Than, once again it fallowed the direction the tip of her sword was pointing at (luckily not in the direction the Guildmaster was standing ) and struck a second time.
❧ This time, the lightning have reached its actual target. The straw filled figure fell down with a loud thud, still buzzing with electricity on the ground. The lightning had struck the wooden stick it used to stand up straight, and like it was a piece of paper, teared it apart with ease. Alphaess meanwhile felt... weak... and stunned by the shock.
❧ The heroine stumbled backwards by a few steps, feeling dizzy. Though, she had no other pain than the strange sensation she felt in her hand, and the slight shock she was still in. But, the heroine felt like she was drunken for a second or two. She was also left breathless, both because of the force and the sudden burst of excitement. Now starting to pant slightly. The tip of the blade dug into the dirt; in an attempt to neutralize the blade that still buzzed with electricity and to help keep her balance.
❧ "Alphaess!" The Guildmaster have taken a few steps towards the heroine, his worry was able to be read from his eyes and voice. Leaning down to the sword that was stuck in ground, Alphaess slowed down panting and got her voice straight; "I'm fine, I'm fine." She repeated with a rater weak voice, than straightened up her back, her dizziness have almost worn of completely.
❧ Though she was struck by a beam of lightning, Alphaess had no anger. Instead, she had something that sounded more like... respect. It was almost impossible for someone to take her off guard and stunned. And, she have yet to see such raw power in one, untrained person, a power that strong in first try was something that was worth training, but the Guildmaster have thought otherwise. Now having a rather hardened look on his face, he looked down at the heroine that was holding her rather aching wrist, examining if she was really telling the truth or only trying to protect the man. A second after, his gaze turned on Flick. "I believe I have seen enough young Felix." He spoke coldly. He was a kind man, a little authoritative at most but nice overall, but there was something he could not stand; dangering other's, especially the heroes which he took as his children, lives. If something have actually happened to Alphaess (even that she wasn't the hero he favored the most, being one of the most disobedient pupil of his) he would not be forgiving himself for it.

◣xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx◢ It was nearly as though Flick had blacked out for a brief moment, and then he'd been knocked flat on his butt. It was extremely uncomfortable to have that occur and he almost thought that either he'd been struck by someone else or...something weird had just occurred. The odd 'tingly' sensation had died down just as soon as it had occurred, but it did not lessen the stunned feeling that Flick was currently feeling. Yet, in that moment, Flick saw what had occurred. Alphaess seemed to have moved from where she had been previously standing, as though a large force had pushed her backwards a few feet. She managed to stay upright, however, but Flick noticed that in that time her sword had been drawn...His hands momentarily dug into the soil that surrounded him, his fingers gouging into the loamy dirt. Just...what exactly had happened? Yet, that was when Flick's olive gaze slowly passed over to where the ring of test dummies were still standing upon their wooden sticks, all standing upright aside from one which looked as though it had literally been torn apart by some strange force. The pieces slowly were coming together and, in a stunned silence, Flick looked over in the direction of Alphaess and the Guildmaster.
At this point, Alphaess had stumbled a few feet back and was looking a bit...different than usual. Not in the actual appearance, but in the fact that she literally looked tired and had dug the tip of her blade into the dirt seemingly in an attempt to stabilize herself. Meanwhile, Flick had not moved from where he sat, just trying to outright down the stuttering beat of his panicked heart. It took him a few moments to try and calm down his agitated breathing as though a huge amount of energy had just been sucked from him, or if he'd come down from a major adrenaline rush. His arms kind of hurt...but maybe that was just from the previous swordfight and having been knocked down from some impeccable force.
The Guildmaster had approached Alphaess in a rather concerned manner. It took a few moments for Alphaess to recover and, when she did, she strained up and repeated the words 'I'm fine'. Her voice, however, was noticeably strained for a change. It was in that moment that Flick recognized just what had happened: the lightning had been caused by him. It was a shock to him (regardless of any situation, it was always a time for puns) that he'd literally been able to do it and, when he had, it had nearly struck Alphaess. It wasn't the largest revelation Flick had ever had in his life for the fact that he had the ability of Will, due to his father's blood, but it still amazed him that he had actually used it. Not only that, but it had been...well, it had been powerful, hadn't it? Even if the lightning had only occurred for less than a second Flick had felt the strange and weird sensation but it had truly been...remarkable, to say the least.
On the other hand, the Guildmaster was not as pleased with this discovery of Flick's newfound ability. He had turned to Flick after a moment and spoken to him, yet the older man's words were colder than Flick had ever heard them before. Flick was still seated in the dirt with his hands braced behind him and his face turned up to peer at the Guildmaster, making no attempt to get up. He had this strange feeling that if he got up, it would happen again. Flick checked up quickly on Alphaess and, even though she seemed unhurt, it still had briefly stunned her. He turned back to the Guildmaster when he spoke: "I didn't...I didn't mean for that to happen. I wouldn't hurt her on purpose, I swear. I..." Flick trailed off, unsure of how to 'defend' himself. It was true; Flick would never have intended to hurt anyone, yet it seemed as though the lightning had just happened without him thinking.
But he knew it now; the test was over. Flick had literally failed in every area possible. Archery, counter skills, melee...and then the will. He wasn't exactly sure if this counted as a fail but most certainly it had still 'sparked' an interest. (Puns were one of his strongest abilities) It was 'striking' that...mm, maybe Flick should probably be taking this a bit more seriously. After a moment of sitting there, Flick figured he may as well get up now. A little unsteadily, Flick pushed off the ground and got shakily to his feet, gripping his opposite arm with a stiff hand as to not 'aggravate' the ability again. He figured that if he kept his arm facing down then maybe it wouldn't happen again...But Flick could not disregard the scent of burned straw from the dummies behind him.

The Alphaess
❦ Hєяσιηє σƒ Kησтнσℓє Gℓα∂є ❦
➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳
Balverine hunter - Twenty-four years - the Guild
❧ Alphaess's twin swords, which were staying combined as a single blade during the whole show, were held in her hands, tiredly and tips still dug into to earth. She have nearly recovered in just a matter of minutes, with her head still turning by a bit. The Guildmaster have stopped approaching her when he have noticed she was able to stand up on her own, as otherwise would not be very acceptable by her, but still kept in a short distance, in case of anything.
❧ When her heart pounding under the metal suit of armor (which would make the effect of the electricity worse if she had been shot), Alphaess attempted to speak to keep her pride undamaged, after all, being almost shot in the chest by a mere rookie (not even a real apprentice!) was not the most honoring thing she have achieved. "H-haven't y-ou heard me you i-idiot, I'm f-ine." The slightly sunned heroine spoke up against the choice of Flick's words, he could not just hurt her. That was not allowable. Not even the single bit. Her voice now was coming all straight and strong with an exception of having to breathe more than usual when speaking, as an effect of this sudden action that got her off guard.
❧ Even more annoyingly, Alphaess have felt something weird with her hair. Not all of them, but, some loose strands of hair were standing high, as they have been effected with such electricity. With her look, she was exactly looking like have been drunken or been hit by... something large. To stop the whole 'world is spinning' feeling she had (and probably to stop her hair from acting up like previously mentioned), held her head with her empty hand, thus giving the Guildmaster enough time to speak.
❧ The Guildmaster looked down at Flick, having a bit of accusing look on his face. Flick could be a strong Will user, but his skills were... too hard to train. And had proved himself unworthy with this last reckless action. "Anyone could make such mistakes... Anyone but a hero. A hero cannot afford such mistakes..." He was disappointed, waiting better abilities from someone that carried a strong hero blood. "It could have ended with worse consequences... " He briefly checked the heroine once more than returning his gaze to rest on Flick.
❧ But, at the second, Alphaess was once more ready and have managed to stop her head from spinning. Instead of agreeing with the Guildmaster, she did something very unlikely (especially in Flick perspective after he kinda 'shocked' her with such power) and stood up against the Guildmaster; "W-what? You are just going to let him go?" the heroine protested, holding her wrist (that might have been hurt by the force that pushed her back) tightly with her hand after having her swords re-sheathed. "Master, you have just seen his power, he has the potential and the power..." Alphaess was cut off with the Guildmaster speaking up now; "No Alphaess, he does have power, but power itself does not make one a hero. Such power in the wrong hands might turn into a... disaster." Now the two have seem to forgotten Flick's persistence even.
❧ "He may be a little reckless and may not have the prefect personality. If fully trained, he could as well help the Guild as much as the other heroes." Alphaess had her burning golden gaze locked on the Guildmaster. The argument was changing... to a more personal one. It was no longer about Flick's test anymore, and the hero they were speaking about was no longer him. Uncontrollable anger was flowing now.
❧ "As much as you do, Alphaess?" The Guildmaster's voice was almost a yell at the heroine, with a tint of anger upon it that quickly faded away in a little bit of time. Alphaess was... looking hurt. Not physically, but mentally. But in a matter of seconds, her face changed, emotionless, she replied like a hissing; "It was you who brought me here, I haven't chosen to be a hero. Unlike me... He does want to be one of your heroes." But once again, the Guildmaster was not effected by the reply, though this time, the was more calm. "Enough Alphaess! Let this man get his belongings, than get him back to wherever you have taken him from" This time, he was successful to silence the raged heroine. Alphaess have turned her head away from him, holding her wrist too tight that her fingers could actually dig into her flesh now.

◣xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx◢ It was an actual start to see Alphaess so...(refrain from using the word shocked) 'startled'. Or maybe a better word might be stunned, or even downright taken by surprise. Yet, even in such a situation Alphaess had managed to shoot back with a managed insult. Flick did not respond to his, for he could most likely just assume that Alphaess's pride had been a little damaged by being on the receiving end of Flick's recent discovery. He would at least let her get away with calling him an idiot because, at this moment, that was the least insulting thing she could have dubbed him. Distractedly, Flick adjusted the bottom of his shirt which had become slightly askew in the excitement when he'd been knocked down. This still all felt so strange to him...He, the cowardly thief and con-man...a Will user? Well, it wasn't entirely a huge amazement to Flick considering he was his father's son, after all. But the fact that he had actually been able to use it was a great revelation. Perhaps 'great' wasn't the appropriate word in this situation...more like 'stunning' and 'poorly-timed'. If Flick had actually known the ability prior, he wouldn't need 'escorts' in Darkwood nor would he have to worry about the Guard chasing him down after every failed con.
Flick's attention snapped back to the Guildmaster, as his words had interrupted Flick's brief thoughts. There was an accusing expression upon the older man's face which Flick could not deny, and the man's words sent a chill down Flick's spine. As he'd expected, it was too obvious that Flick had screwed up. Flick instinctively tensed with the urge to say something back but, really, the words had been sort of drained out of him, which was rather odd for Flick. The Guildmaster was no man that Flick could just 'chat' into letting him have a second chance. He was too intelligent, too experienced. Flick had seen the Guildmaster's stolen glance in Alphaess's direction, and he knew that his momentary anger had probably been brought on by a seeming protective urge over Alphaess.
"I--" Flick started to say in a vague attempt to defend himself but, much to his astonishment, Alphaess beat him to it. She stood up against the Guildmaster, which was the last thing he had expected her to do. He'd expected her to be mad, and just as willing to get the con-man booted out of the Guild for nearly costing her more than just a scare. He noted the fact that she was gripping her wrist when she spoke to the Guildmaster again, and they seemed to have gotten into a heated debate. Flick took a hesitant step back...it seemed as though this conversation had taken a turn into something that was not involving Flick. It was almost as if they had forgotten of his presence and merely dragged the argument into something else, regardless of the fact that their words were clearly pointed in his direction.
At 'reckless' and 'not have the perfect personality' Flick winced. "Ouch...?" He mumbled under his breath, but the words were far too quiet for either of the two to pick out. But he felt thoroughly awkward with having been jammed right into the middle of their argument which had definitely taken a more personal turn. He uncomfortably straightened himself and touched his shoulder, feeling that his palm was literally still rather hot from the effect of the lightning strike. In fact, it actually surprised him when he touched it to his skin and he stiffened momentarily, slyly reaching up and cupping his hands to blow on them and try to cool them down. It was a rather silly gesture, but he immediately lowered his hands upon the Guildmaster's final words.
That was it. He was done here. Flick had no idea what to feel, whether it be disappointment, relief, or even anger. Yet he felt none of those, and merely just confused. Confused over what happened, confused over why Alphaess had actually defended him. She had actually generally seemed to want him to try and have a chance here, even if they hadn't exactly seen eye to eye before. (In this case, not seeing 'eye to eye' meant that Flick had probably annoyed the crap out of her with his constant nicknames, jokes and poorly placed puns). Not exactly wanting there to be further argument, Flick reluctantly gave a slight nod. "I'll go." And, with a last look to the Guildmaster, Flick added an almost (non-intentionally, of course) bitter: "...Thanks." It was actually meant just an outright 'thanks' for money in turn for the rune (at this point, Flick had actually forgotten about the rune...sort of.)

The Alphaess
❦ Hєяσιηє σƒ Kησтнσℓє Gℓα∂є ❦
➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳
Balverine hunter - Twenty-four years - the Guild
❧ The Guildmaster was a great hero; a skilled fighter (though she have ever seen him fight, all heroes have heard the stories) and a good leader; but he did not know how to act towards the ones like Alphaess. Dominant and disobedient, standing on the edges of good and evil and the ones that required most attention to be guided to the side of the light. Still she could not believe how ignorant he could be at these situations; always being the one, mighty figure above the students of the Guild. They all respected him, or so he thought. But, Alphaess's kind... He could never win over her and ones alike. Sometimes, Alphaess was sure that she was the biggest failure of his, she was sure he regretted the day he have met her in the misty forest of Witchwood.
❧ Now, the Guildmaster was silent. His light gaze was softened by a bit, compared to the look he had a few seconds ago in his little argument with Alphaess. He had nothing else to say, but with a nicer way he gave a last nod to Flick. Meanwhile Alphaess was standing in the exact same place she was, avoiding to look in the direction of the Guildmaster, eager to leave the place. She felt anger, but not for Flick or the little accident she had. It was all for the Guildmaster. The only man that tried to dominate and force her whole life.
❧ Alphaess gave a small gesture with her head to get Flick going before starting to walk back down the path herself with a quick pace, leaving the Guildmaster where he was. All she had in mind was to get away from this situation, this place and the Guildmaster himself. Perhaps back to her little, lonely 'hideout' placed at the south of Greatwood to spend the rest of the day being lazy or shooting at her own training dummies to get her rage out. Maybe she could continue her hobby. Whatever she would do, or won't do, would be a whole lot better than her short stay here. The Guild... It was no longer her home.
❧ With a hand that went up to the top of her head to hopelessly try to get her scruffy and now electrocuted hair tamed, Alphaess had already reached the edge of the training areas, forgetting completely about Flick until that time, being too busy in thoughts. She stopped than, leaving a second or two for him to catch up to her. If he were to ask any questions, she would only reply with a silent and ignoring stare. This was the worst time to talk to Alphaess right now, her aggression levels have gone even... higher. If that was even possible.
---------------------------------------
❧ It was merely noon now, the sun was at the brightest state and the grass of the Guild were turned into a beautiful tone of green. There were soft melodies of birds surrounding, along with the all noise made by the young, inexperienced apprentices. All the yelling, all the chaos... But, the red haired heroine was too deep in her own thought to notice anything. Not even the pale skinned hero whom have approached her with a small wave to get her attention. Until that, she was leaning down to a wall arms crossed, stoically waiting for Flick to exit the building while she waited in the entrance where she have led Flick into and the place she have told him she would wait. She was unable to enter the building after all; not because of other heroes or the Guildmaster, but her own mind had forbid her.
❧ Now that Silvemoon have came, Alphaess had now returned back to the real world. "Leaving already are you my dear?" Silvermoon asked gently upon noticing her different way of disappointment and... perhaps slight melancholy? It was rare to catch her like this. But Silvermoon -or anyone else- couldn't just ask directly. She'd never tell and might return with a negative 'feedback' "I'm taking the merchant back to where he belongs. I probably wouldn't be around for a while... I'll stay where I belong." The heroine replied half-heartedly without looking at the hero's face.

◣xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx◢ From there, things had gone rather quickly downhill for Flick. Flick was fairly concerned that he might be a wizard of sorts but, of course, that was stupid. He was a Will user. A reckless one, at that...the events that had occurred beforehand continuously replayed themselves over and over in Flick's mind. He couldn't take his mind off of it. The feeling, Alphaess and the Guildmasters' reactions, even the damn smell after it had happened. It had smelled like burnt grass, or burnt hay...most likely because of what was filling up the dummies that had literally been torn to smithereens upon the lightning striking it. Was that normal? Or...was something different with Flick? Wrong with him? Flick was not a usual Will user, so of course his ability would come as a shock to him (ha). But...did most Will users happen to do that on a first try? What was it that Alphaess had said beforehand, anyway...? He had the 'potential' and 'power'. Maybe it had just been out of the heat of the moment, but...ah, Flick pushed the thoughts aside. He could not linger on those too long otherwise he really would have an aneurysm.
Flick was now making his way down the Guild corridors after receiving his meager belongings. His coat, the money he'd been given (no way was he leaving that behind now) and some sort of 'makeshift' rope he may have borrowed (stolen) to sling the sac over his shoulder so he wouldn't have to carry it in his hand. It proved quite a hand, and Flick did not think Alphaess would mind too much or even recognize he'd slipped a bit of rope from the archery area. Who would miss it, anyway? After all, he was still Flick. Oh, also one more thing he'd stolen...the rune.
Alright, so perhaps it was a little reckless of Flick to do, but he had a nagging suspicion that he needed the rune. He needed it in the way that...ladies of Bowerstone needed corsets, or...wealthy folk needed handkerchiefs. No reason. He just...did. Flick had not exactly intended to steal it when he'd come across it in the spare corridors near the Guild gardens. He'd taken that route on his way out merely from curiosity and, well, things had taken their toll from there. Most of the Heroes must have been out at that point, because no one noticed a slightly bedraggled merchant slip in, pop it off from the desk, return it to his coat, and make his way back down the corridors as though nothing had occurred. Why exactly would the Guildmaster need it? Maybe he wouldn't miss it. In all actuality, it belonged to Flick. He'd dressed up as a bandit, he'd snuck into their camp, he'd risked his neck just to find a safe passage. Flick had killed Sabre. So why shouldn't he have the rune? He imagined the money as...a thanks for ridding the Guild of the bandit king. Hero or not, Flick didn't need swords and bows to defend himself...besides, the lightning might prove a nifty trick in the future. If he didn't kill himself by accident, first...
It was now noon, and it was time to go. Flick adjusted the strap of the bag over his shoulder and assured himself the rune was in its proper position--away from view. He ran his fingers briefly over the smooth surface of the stone, pulled his coat slightly to assure it was covered, and then made his way to the meeting spot where he'd find Alphaess. It occurred to Flick as a brief thought that this might be his last time seeing Alphaess (unless fate decided to screw with them again). It was rather a bittersweet feeling, because it seemed as though maybe the Heroine had, in the end, maybe tried to defend him. Perhaps it was for her own sake, or perhaps not, but she'd still been on his side at that point. That had to count for something...But maybe now Flick wouldn't have to worry about being eaten by her Balverine. Speaking of which, Flick hadn't seen the white beast in some time. Uh oh...he could still be wandering the halls. Flick made his venture over to the Guild entrance as quickly as he could manage.
When Flick came upon the entrance, he noted that Alphaess was not alone. Silvermoon was there with her...Flick slowed his pace and, once again, adjusted his bag. He tried to pick up on the conversation, yet only ended up catching the last sentence that Alphaess uttered: "I'm taking the merchant back to where he belongs. I probably won't be around for a while...I'll stay where I belong." Flick faltered in the slightest. He felt a bit like an eavesdropper kind of just hanging on the edges here, so he might soon make an appearance as to not feel too awkward. But he noted that Alphaess did not even refer to him by name, but rather just 'the merchant'. Flick frowned slightly, and then stepped into view. "Uh, hey, Red. Ready to go?" And, slyly, Flick stole a glance at Silvermoon. "Or...did I interrupt something?"

The Alphaess
❦ Hєяσιηє σƒ Kησтнσℓє Gℓα∂є ❦
➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳
Balverine hunter - Twenty-four years - the Guild
❧ Upon Alphaess's reply, Silvermoon was hesitant to speak any further, knowing he would not be able to get any more questions and for the chance that he might get on her bad side. The peaceful hero always wished that his 'friend' could actually get to understand the Guildmaster at some of her life. If she didn't act too thickheaded, maybe she could actually understood why the Guildmaster wanted her to train more, to give up her dominance... But it was probably impossible for the heroine. Though, Silvermoon was probably the only person in the whole Guild that thought Alphaess might be right... slightly. Because, he was able to learn her unpleasant story, and have seen the glimpse of light that might still be left inside of her. With the rough life she had, it seem to be... normal for her.
❧ Alphaess was still leaning to the side of the wall, her golden gaze resting on the floor as her mind was being full with thoughts. Silvemoon, who still had his hood on, was touching his fingers to each other nervously, joining her wait for Flick, silently. The wait was over shortly as Flick had shown himself. With his usual attitude, Silvermoon smiled warmly to him ad answered the question himself; "No, of course not." Alphaess meantime sighed a little, keeping it silent. She was not quite... feeling well at all. She always had been fighting with the Guildmaster, but... Anyway, she could not keep her mind occupied with it too long, especially since Flick was here. She did not knew why, but she always had this feeling to prevent herself from seen weak in front of him. Maybe she kinda wanted to 'impress' him maybe? Not from any other reason that what they have gone through in Darkwood. Flick doing her own job and killing Sabre, getting herself hurt two times like a rookie hero... And she called herself 'the Alphaess', mighty balverine slayer of Knothole Glade... How could a wimpy merchant could do her job better than her? Now, there was also the fact that he -almost- zapped her with his newfound Will ability
❧ Alphaess pushed herself away from the wall, using her hands to do so. Than, when her back was straightened and she was standing all straight up, briefly stole a glance at Flick. "Let's get going already" Her voice was now tired, but more had disappointment. Surprisingly, there was no signals of anger. Without looking of either men, she turned around to face the road. She rubbed her left ankle softly for a second, holding both hands at the level of her chest before starting to walk.
❧ Glancing over her shoulder back at Flick, Alphaess added; "I'll be getting you to Bowerstone, if that works." If he wanted, she could get him to elsewhere nearby. Or maybe even with the usage of her Guildseal, anywhere over Albion. She felt that at least this could be done for him. Being humiliated in front of heroes and getting beaten up pretty good. It was entertaining to watch for her, but probably not so much for him.
❧ There was something that bugged her mind, still, with such raw power he had on show, he might be a great Will-user. Not every single apprentice actually managed to do such damage in first try. He sure have a strong blood, right? But how? It was a great question she wanted to ask. How could someone, a simple merchant, could possess such power without having any training with it in his life? It was strange, very strange... And a bit suspicious perhaps. Maybe he wasn't quite the person he have told him to be.... Maybe. Or he was just lucky... Ah, luck, considering his earlier adventures, he was definitely not the one that had much luck at all. Than, the main problem still remained; wasting such a great potential. It was stupid, even for the Guildmaster himself. Why did he even acted that much against it? Flick have just shot his least favorite heroine, probably. If it was Alphaess in the place of him, she would gladly accept him into the training. All he needed was training to tap his full potential. Just training... Training from a hero or heroine.
