(Oh. That makes sense)

When Mayia had leaned back on him, Syn smiled subconsciously and patted her head in a gentle fashion. "That's good, I guess. But....I...." He started to trail off. "have....a bad feeling." Syn mumbled. He hoped that he wouldn't have to get involved and just stay in the cabin with Mayia.

Mio and Anice shared a glance with each other, both having a worried and somewhat confused expression. However, they knew that they would have to take Skye up on his offer. "W-Why?" Anice quietly asked. Her question was not directed to anybody; she wasn't even sure what was happening. Mio then interrupted. "Skye....please stand up. Do you really trust us to help you? I mean....you probably aren't even sure that we'll be able to fulfill your request." she said, questioning his actions. "Y-You must....really be in need of help...." Anice whimpered a bit. She didn't want to do it. As much as she knew she had to, she didn't want to. There was a very high chance of them dieing. They were only human.

Mayia smiled quietly at being petted, pressing a little closer to Syn's hand before he started to speak. She frowned lightly at that and poked Syn's cheek, putting on a purely innocent expression as she shut her eyes again and leaned herself against Syn tiredly. "Everything will be fine…. Just… Just fine…" She started to yawn, bringing one of her hands to her mouth. She would have liked to go back to sleep again, but soon, that feeling of something being wrong struck her as well, causing her to open her eyes and glance towards the door of the cabin. She didn't always want to be useless. To be able to help would be great.

=========================

Skye didn't budge an inch at the sound of their voices, Knight having developed a bit of sweat at seeing this unfold before him. Knight had walked over to the others, but his eyes never left his pitiful brother. There wasn't anything else that he could do but worry at this point, no matter how many times that he had tried to kill him in the past. Skye, on the other hand, was still awaiting a sure answer that they would help him. He didn't want to live in this icy restraint any longer. He wanted to be able to work and feel the strain of it. He wanted to be able to smile at people as his thanks as well as giving them a share of his labours. He wanted to be human for so long now, desperate for help in breaking the curse that bound him as a minion of a sadistic demonic icon.

"As much as you can do… Anything… Please. I am begging you." Skye had pleaded, staying in his position on the floor. Even if he did move, he wasn't going to be standing up any time soon. He was still in much pain, something as simply as standing up feeling as if it would make his head spin with the stress on his limbs. Even bowing down to the floor like this, resting on his knees, was starting to make him dizzy. It wouldn't be surprising if he were to collapse soon.

Syn flinched when Mayia poked him, opening his left eye. "I hope you're right, Mayia." he started to say. "But I just can't relax anymore." He rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, having an odd feeling in his mind. Mayia didn't seem to confident either. He fidgeted in place and then quietly stood up, looking right outside the door frame.

Mio frowned slightly and reached over to Skye to obtain the object that he offered to them. After exchanging looks, she then nodded. "Alright. We'll do what we can to the best of our ability." Mio said with a slightly sorrowful smile. After a brief moment of silence, the two girls felt uncomfortable with Skye kneeling to them like that. "P-Please rest." Anice asked softly. It was obvious that Skye was in pain, and bowing on the floor didn't look like it was going to help.

Mayia was in a daze, watching the door worriedly, soon yawning a second time and leaning back on Syn, feeling like she could just steal his warmth away. Because of that, she almost fell back as Syn stood up, looking up at him with still tired eyes. She had pulled herself up to her feet before feeling tired still and sitting on the bed, yawning lightly before she could ask what was going on. "Do.. you want to go see?" She asked drowsily, tugging lightly on Syn's shirt before she shook her head a few times to wake herself up. It was hard, but she was able to manage well enough.

======================

Skye didn't move for a little while longer. The only time that he had was when Hunter realized that he couldn't. Trotting up to the cold boy, Hunter nudged him and knocked him on his side. Skye laid there, coughing lightly and groaning with the pain. He couldn't keep his composure, and there really wasn't a point in that when he didn't have the strength to take it. He laid there in silent, waiting for someone to just tell him that he was being weak. By Knight, that is. He wanted to thank the girls, but there really wasn't much more that he could do. He strained his body too much this time, and he couldn't even nod his head to tell them that he appreciated them just being here.

(Meh. Blocking of writer)

Pondering a bit, Syn decided that it was best for him not to see. He was afraid that if he did try to help in whatever situation there was, he would just be a burden and hold everyone back. "I-I think I'm good." he replied hesitantly. "I think I'm better off staying in here. Sorry for disturbing you." He then sat next to her on the bed and kept his eyes outside the door.

Mio and Anice awkwardly watched Skye as Hunter pushed him onto his side. It looked odd, seeing him just roll over and lie there in a weird position. Anice wanted to attempt to help him up, but that would most likely do no good. So she just stared at him. Mio held up the object in which Skye had handed her, and realized that it was the same of the symbol in the library. She then knew to go back there as soon as possible and do something about it.

Mayia tilted her head lightly at the look that Syn had on his face. He looked almost upset, but she wasn't sure that she should interfere with what he wanted. She really didn't like to see him with that look on his face, though. It was almost painful to see. She sighed lightly at that, though, putting a smile on her face and watching him as he sat down beside her. "Are you sure?" She asked quietly, keeping her hands to herself as she looked his expression over one more time. "You look like you're really worried about this." She murmured softly, holding her hands on her lap to keep them warm.

=======================

Hunter whined lightly at the look at Skye had given him before he let his head fall, but he understood just what he had to do now. If he couldn't convince them to stop putting themselves in danger like this, then the least that he could do was help them out. Do something to keep them from dying at the very least. This key would help, but if they didn't know what to do with it. They were going to get some more knowledge on the world that they were going to as well. Hunter had nudged Skye a bit, just to make sure that he could feel and heard him grunt a bit, still unable to move, then looked up at the others.

"We should find the fortune teller of your village. The tarots that she has may be able to help you in the other world. And who knows? Maybe the old hag will know a little of the real spirit tomb and not just be crazy." Hunter said lowly, lowering his ears for a moment before getting to his feet. Knight was just in awe at the moment, watching for a little while before deciding that he could just come too. He always did want to know what made his brother act like this. Maybe he could hold it over him.

(Hope you had a nice Christmas. Unless you don't celebrate it. Then that's a different story.)

Looking over to Mayia, Syn realized that he was making her worry. He flashed her one of his reassuring smiles and said, "Yea. I'm fine. Thanks for asking, though." He then sighed and stretched his arms only to stand up once more. "Actually...I don't know. I'm just afraid that Mio and Anice will somehow hurt themselves, whatever they're doing."

Going inside the cabin, Mio told Syn of their plans of heading back to Barak to find the fortune teller. She said they would be back after gathering information, so he decided to stay with Mayia. Walking back outside, Mio nodded, holding a tighter grasp on the necklace. "Let's get moving then." she said to Hunter. She and Anice went ahead of the group, organizing in their minds where the fortune teller's tent was. They weren't so sure where it was placed, for they have never really paid a visit.

(Lol X3 I don't celebrate it traditionally, but yeah. I enjoyed myself because I wasn't forced to go to church this time :P)

Mayia lowered her head slightly at the look that Syn gave her, feeling like that smile was more like just a way to deceive her into feeling better. It only made her worry more. If it was so serious that he had to look at her that way, then she couldn't help but feel like something was very wrong. Syn had soon stood up, and delivered the line that finally calmed her nerves to know what it was that worried him so. "If that's all… then we could go help. I might not be able to fight well, but I'm good with barriers. I bet you have a useful skill, too." Mayia said, putting on a smile of her own that was put there just because she felt that she was finally being trusted. She slung her legs over the edge of the bed, smiling lightly at him in hopes that he would answer her with enthusiasm.

Before she could get her answer, though, Mio came inside, telling them of a plan to find a fortune teller. She had caught word that the fortune teller of Barak had left that village because of the poor business. The one of Jhoru disappeared over a year ago… Looking over to Syn, she told him this and cast her gaze towards the door again. "The only place they can find a fortune teller around here is the demon up the cliff… He's a really frightening guy, though…" Mayia said lowly, wondering if they should tell them. Mayia wasn't one to speak much in front of people she was uncomfortable with. She couldn't bring herself to stand up and go to Mio in order to give her this information. Mayia was well informed, as silent as she was. She knew a lot of the area here, as did Knight and Skye.

==================================

Hunter nodded to Mio before he started off towards Barak. Knight spoke up before they could leave, though. With the clearing of his throat, Knight said, "Didn't that old bat leave Barak already? Even the teller from Jhoru vanished around twenty years ago. The villagers stopped relying on those old ladies years before you guys were born. I thought at least Hunter would know about that." Hunter hadn't been aware of the Barak's fortune teller having left her post, but of course, he knew that Jhoru was vacant right now. Most of those villagers had died by now, the few that still lived hiding in the village itself or in the cave Skye had directed them too a few days prior.

Syn was silent for a few seconds after Mio left and Mayia spoke, wondering whether he should help or not. "Alright then." he finally responded. "Let's do what we can to the best of our abilities...although I'm not entirely sure what I can do. Thank you for telling me about the teller. We should go report this to them, if that's alright with you."
~~
Turning around to face him, Mio looked at Knight with a blank and confused expression. It was then obvious she had never heard the news. Neither did Anice; she never even knew they had a fortune teller. "Really?" Mio asked disappointingly. She felt a bit lame for being so confident. "I don't recall that ever happening." With a big sigh, she turned back, only to run into Syn outside the cabin.
~~
"Shall we go fin them then?" Syn asked, motioning his hand to head outside. He took a step out the cabin, feeling re-energized and hopeful. He stood outside and waited for Mayia to follow suit, until Mio suddenly came out of the trees. "Syn!" she said. "Apparently, the fortune teller has disappeared from Barak. We intend to find one, at the very least, but there isn't much information on where to find one." Syn then knew that it was his cue to tell her. "Well in that case," he started to say, "Mayia had told me that the only place we can find a fortune teller around here is the demon up the cliff."

Mayia nodded lightly, smiling at the confidence that was written across Syn's face. She liked it, walking after him and latching onto his arm with a smile. She couldn't keep herself away, enjoying this side of Syn. He was sweet and timid, but that didn't mean that she didn't appreciate something like this. She followed him outside, hiding herself a bit behind him. She nodded in agreement when Syn told the others of the demon fortune teller, her eyes a bit uncertain of what they would think. Mayia only knew about this because she spotted him while she was lost in the mountain paths.

Knight was a bit disappointed as well as he looked over at Mio and Anice while Skye just laid on the floor helplessly, occasionally moaning or groaning under his breath. It was obvious that he wasn't doing very well with this his head in pain. Hearing about the demon teller made Knight shudder. It wasn't an ideal thought, but soon enough, he nodded a bit and turned his head a bit away from the others. "Then... If we go, then what are we going to do with him?" He asked, looking down at Skye for a moment before averting his eyes. "And a demon teller should be really strong. They might not even see us because you guys are humans." He said lowly, shoving his hands deeper into his pockets as he glared a bit down towards the ground. He knew just how unpredictable and human hating demons could be. There were a lot of kind demons, but many hated humans for their usual selfish ways. Their numbers rivalled one another, so wars ended up surfacing here now and then.
