Dipper yelped as the book smacked into his face, and fell off of the bed. Feeling something sitting on top of him, he turned his head only to see a gray tabby cat...yelping with surprise, he shoved it off, when it was simply their fat pet.

Mabel laughed at her brother's terror and grinned. "Hello!" she said, sliding off the bed to pet the fat gray tabby. "Aren't you adorable? Oh yes you are!"

Dipper literally rolled into the wall, shuddering as the little cat meowed, purring loudly. He sat up, and started rocking back and forth with unease.

Mabel picked up the cat and held it in front of Dipper. "Dip? I didn't think you did that," she commented, laughing as she sat the cat down. The cat padded over to Dipper and jumped up into his lap, purring

Dipper tensed as the fat creature fell asleep on his lap, and looked down at it like it was crazy. "What if it's the zombie...but it's also a shapeshifter?" He whispered, looking up at Mabel. Dang it, sometimes Dipper just thought the weirdest things.

Mabel laughed at him. "Dip, calm down! We're in California, not Gravity Falls. Besides. The only shapeshifter was the one the Author created... Just calm down broster."

Dipper started flailing his arms, and shut his eyes closed tight. "I CAN'T CALM DOWN WHEN THERE'S A ZOMBIE CAT OUT THERE!" He squeaked quickly, and, loudly.

Mabel blinked. "Well then. Hey, it's cloudy out, right? If so, if the sun comes out... Oh! Zombies can't be out in the sun can they?" she asked, then widened her eyes at how much she knew. Dipper. That stupid book... I need to stop... Oh gosh. Her thoughts were jumbled up as she waited for Dipper to respond.

Dipper tensed, looking back outside. "But there's a whole forest out there!" He insisted, and kept rocking back and forth; the poor cat didn't even seem to notice. "It's covered with shade, and it's so dark, and Brooke's cave is dark, and...Oh no."

Mabel glanced at Dipper. "And she knew about the Journals... I really hope she didn't summon that cat zombie... Come on! We need to ask her a few questions."
