Andrew nodded and sighed. "I... I understand. Hunters think all vampires are mean, but we're not. The nice ones are just the ones that hide and don't pick fights, which is why hunters don't know we exist. You were right about those men. They were vampires. I could sense that there were others around and I knew they weren't friendly. That's why I followed you home. I knew they were going to try something with you and I couldn't let them."

I was trying to stay away to protect you. Many vampires hate our family for our human loving ways. My dad was a doctor when he was alive. He taught us how to hold our craving for humans and drink animal blood instead. There are few humans that new about us, but it is good that they know. They provide us with blood when we are desperate for it."
