Aaron's tail puffed up again. Tears threatened to come as he whispered, "I'm too scared..."

I hugged him to me. "Well you still want that hand for sure." I gently kissed his head. "Aaron, it's not that bad, okay? Besides, your big brother's here now, remember? I'll keep you safe." I gently rubbed his arm as I reached down and took his hurt hand. "I have a rod in me, Aaron. And you can't even tell. Neither can I. Now may I see your arm...?"

Tiger looked at me, softly kissing my lips. "You do? Where?" He asked, starting to slide off my shoulder headfirst. He scrambled up onto my head.
Aaron's ears flattened to his head. "Okay..."

I chuckled, looking up at Tiger. "It's in my leg." Then I looked at Aaron's hand. I gently unwrapped it. When I saw it I flinched. "Ow." I wrapped it back. "Yeah, we need to get that fixed. Would you be okay with having surgery if I was right beside you, holding your hand?" I asked him.

Aaron shook softly. "I'm not good with pain..."

I shook my head. "You'll be asleep. You won't feel a thing, and when you wake up you'll have medicine so that it doesn't hurt." I explained. "It'll feel a whole lot better than it does now. I promise."

Tears fell from his eyes, and he hugged me softly. "Okay..."

I gently rubbed his back. "Good boy. . . I'll go schedule it tonight, okay? Now are you tired or no?" I asked him softly. I was going to schedule the surgery for as soon as possible.

Aaron cried into my chest, not able to answer over the tears.

I picked him up, my arms under him. I gently kissed his head. "I'll take that as a yes." I walked towards my dorm. "Tiger, is it okay if he sleeps on the extra bed?" I looked up at him. "The one in our room?"
