Anna smiled back. "Why are you working at the ranch?"

"I need the money. Mom's sick and all dads money goes to her hospital bills and I'm stuck with a little sister to take care of."

"I'm sorry," Anna said. "I can help," she said. "My mom is a doctor. She learned everything she knows from the best. Let her look at your mom," she said.

"Okay," he said.

"And don't feel like you have to repay us for anything. We don't need half the money we have," Anna said. "I'm not trying to brag either. I'm sorry if it came off that way," she said.
