Ayra wrote:A stressed voice brought me out of my small little space out I had done while walking away from the group. "Ayra?" The voice asked. "No, it's Ayra's undead corpse- of course it's Ayra you cold corndog." I face palmed. What, gone for less than 2 years and he's already lost. Lovely. "Ayra, this is serious." I rolled my eyes. "Everything is serious with...them." I skirted over their, Hydra's, name. "No, it's...code crimson serious, Hunter." Stopping where I stood, about 10 yards now from everyone, my eyes widened. "What condition?" My voice was softer, more concern lacing through it, as I stood with wide eyes, like a deer's. "Red Sea conditions." My heart plummeted. "Alternative?" I asked hesitantly, terrified there was no other option this time. "Reindeer." Micah's voice carried through the line after a brief silence. Clenching my jaw tightly, I shut my eyes and breathed through my nose sharply. "No other option?" I asked in a tone that suggested I already knew the answer. "Correct. You're needed, Agent Hunter." Even though I knew he couldn't see it, I nodded. "Give me some time." My tone was commanding, no room for arguing, before I hung up the phone and shoved it inside a pocket on the inner part of my jacket.
My body was tense after the phone call, rigid, even. I kept my hands planted inside my jean pockets to keep them from shaking as well as to hide the sweat coating my palms. I was anxious beyond belief, but I kept it fairly well hidden. Though, I knew someone, if not everyone, would notice my nervous energy. Once I traced back my steps, I stood on the outskirt of the group and forced my weight onto my left leg, awaiting Loki and his mother to finish their chat before I would be able to approach him.

Loki nodded, his signature smirk spreading across his lips. "Indeed, they are capable of wasting a whole mortal lifetime on their desperate attempts to acquire global power, identity, without succeeding.", he replied in an evidently condescending tone. Granted, the god wasn't so naive as to completely underestimate Hydra, for he knew what a fuel desperation was, but still they were just another group of mortals struggling for something they were never meant to have. He then hummed and shook his head a little bit, looking over at Ayra again as he spoke on. "An agent who's on a mission and gives herself away is either a fool or a genius. Our little friend here doesn't strike me as overly foolish, so the only option left would have been that of a genius. But in that case she wouldn't have disclosed her connections in the way she did. She would have paraded in here and more or less willingly named the beast in a way that's so ridiculously honest that we reward her with trust, which in turn is the key to backstabbing us. That would have been psychological warfare. Truth is she kept beating about the bush, longing to spit it out on the one hand but not daring to burn her tongue with the heat of this peculiar name on the other, gaining trust first before disclosing the information and not the other way around. Even when she told me, it was more or less a jumble of slip ups and uncertainties, inspiring suspicion rather than purposefully building up trust through honesty. And since she's evidently not a fool on a mission but not a genius on a mission either, the idea suggests itself that she's simply not on a secret mission and out to get us all." Finally Loki glanced at his mother sideways. "Can you follow me?", he asked in a rather light-hearted kind of voice.
-_- Magi... Why must your writing be so good? xD
Frigga nodded, understanding now. Of course, she should have known her son would have everything perfectly handled. She just felt overprotective, and didn't want him to become lax and make a mistake. She studied his face again, perhaps unfortunately, that would never happen. This was her son, the god of lies, he had made to many enemies to ever let his guard down. He would watch, always, silently watch, and always be on his guard. She placed a caressing hand on the side of his face. "Will I ever have a question you won't have the answer to?" She saw him draw in a breath, perhaps to reply, and laughed. "No, perhaps not, you're right." She shook her head wearily again, "But don't let it go to your head! I think it's just fatigue making me ask all the wrong questions. I'll get you one day." [insert space for whatever chit chat I don't know]
With that the Lady Frigga stood up, and addressed the rest of the group, except for Ayra, since she was standing away talking into what looked like a strangely formed rock. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to head back to Asgard for a little while and rest up. Don't get into too much trouble while I'm gone will you?" With a smile at the group, she glanced up at the sky, and disappeared in a ball of light, being transported by Heimdall back to Asgard.
