Maplepaw just shrugged and continued to bounce right along. Finally though, she stopped, panting, and instead walked at the same steady pace as Russetprint. "We're going to the river first, right? I'm really thirsty, but I would also love to catch a fish! And maybe even go swimming!"

"Maybe..." Dustpaw replied. He halted at a patch of borage that grew just a few mouse-lengths off from his paws, remembering that borage was good for helping queens to produce more milk, and gathered a large clump of it. He then passed it to Cherryblossom. "Take this, please? I've still got to carry this chervil." He picked up the bundle of chervil in his mouth that he had collected before and continued walking through the forest.

When they arrived at the Training Dell, Ashstream turned to Sparrowpaw and meowed, "Okay, battle moves first!" Without warning, she lunged at her apprentice and pinned him to the ground to the ground, making sure to keep her claws sheathed, and meowed, "You've just been pinned by an enemy warrior! What are you going to do?"

Russetprint nodded to the young cat. "Alright. I wouldn't mind going for a drink either." she chuckled a bit. She picked up the pace just a bit so they could get to the river faster.

Cherryblossom nodded, picking up the herbs her apprentice pointed out. She then walked besides Dustpaw and gave the tom a small smile the best she could.

Sparrowpaw was caught of guard by Ashstream but nodded a bit. "Alright." He meowed thinking quickly. He then padded at her belly with his hind paws.

Before long, the two cats arrived at the river. Maplepaw practically dunked her head into it and began to lap at the cool, clean water until she was satisfied. She then sprawled out on the grass with a contented sigh, relaxing for only a moment in the warmth of the sun before getting back to her paws again and staring into the fast-flowing river with wide blue eyes. "See any fish?" she asked Russetprint, not taking her eyes away from the water for even a second.

Dustpaw picked up several short, thin sticks off of the ground, for he knew that queens often needed to bite down hard on something in the middle of kitting, to help deal with the pain, and sticks were very useful for just that. Now that his mouth was full of twigs and herbs, he could no longer speak but only gestured with his tail in the direction of the camp as if to ask, "Should we head back now?"

"That's a good move if you're facing off against someone who's around your own size," Ashstream explained. "But if I was really an enemy warrior and you were only an apprentice, that move wouldn't be of much use to you, since I'm bigger and heavier than you are. A good way to get around being pinned down by a larger opponent than yourself is by wringing your paws around their neck and hauling yourself up and over them. From there, you can either cling to their back and sink your claws in, land behind them and yank on their tail to unbalance them, or land on the side of them, swipe their side, and then slip underneath them to rake their belly."

The red tabby she-cat chuckled a bit at Maplepaw, watching her lap up water. Russetprint leaned down and took a few drinks of water before sitting down on the edge of the river. "None yet. We scared them off. Just sit and watch. They'll come." the she-cat purred quietly.

Cherryblossom nodded, knowing they had gathered enough supplies for now. She turned around, smiling a bit at Dustpaw before padding back to camp. Her white coated stood out in the green scenery so if she walked to fast Dustpaw wouldn't have a hard time finding her.

Sparrowpaw listened intently to what Ashstream had to say. He nodded his head, his tail flicking back in forth in annoyance a bit. The brown spotted tom then did what he was told, using his paws to climb over his mentor.

Maplepaw nodded and gazed down into the water, waiting for any fish to flash by.

Dustpaw padded into the medicine cat's den and set the herbs that they had gathered down in the corner of the den. "Do you need me for anything else?" he asked Cherryblossom.

"Good job!" Ashstream purred. "Now what are you going to do?"

Russetprint flicked the young apprentice as a fish went by. "Its yours." she whispered.

Cherryblossom set down her collection of herbs as well. "No you can go." the albino cat meowed. She then began to put them away, smiling to herself a bit.

"Get you off balance?" Sparrowpaw meowed, a bit unsure.

(it's okay. I understand. Same here. Lot going on)

Maplepaw held back a mewl of excitement for fear of scaring off the little fish and lashed her paw out at it, scooping it out of the water and onto dry land. She watched it flop around for a few seconds, then let out a purr of pride when it lay still. "I did it! I caught a fish!" she meowed triumphantly. She nudged it over to Russetprint. "I want you to eat it."

"Okay." Dustpaw crawled out of the medicine cat's den and back into the camp clearing, blinking as the bright sun hit his eyes. He wandered over to the fresh-kill pile, picked up a small mouse, and took it over to his favorite eating spot. He was just about to take a bite of the tasty morsel when he noticed Fadedpaw sitting not far off and remembered suddenly what Cherryblossom had said about becoming friends with the shy little she-cat. "Hey, Fadedpaw!" he called to her. "Want to share?" He nodded at the mouse at his paws.

"It's up to you," Ashstream replied. "Once free from my grasp, you can do pretty much anything you want, but different moves and techniques will have different outcomes, obviously. Some good and some not so good. Just do what you feel is best and see how it turns out!"

Russteprint chuckled a bit at the young apprentice, very proud that Maplepaw had done well on her first fishing catch. "You did well and if you insist I would gladly eat it." The tabby purred. She bent down, taking a few bites from the fish before sitting back up and licking her muzzle. "Yum. Fish is always good. Now lets see if I can catch one for you." She mewoed, smiling.

Fadedpaw, have been day dreaming almost all day jumped when Dustpaw called to her. The golden brown spotted she-cat nodded a bit, standing and stretching her legs. She padded over to the tom. he too was shy just like her and she always wanted to talk to him in attempt to help them both become less shy. "O-okay... sure." she meowed quietly.

Sparrowpaw nodded, letting what his mentor said soak in to his mind. He then jumped on to Ashstream's back and held on tightly. He knew he had to have a good grasp so he wasn't thrown off.

"Okay!" Maplepaw sat back and waited for Russetprint to catch a fish, glad that the ginger she-cat had enjoyed the fish that the little apprentice had caught for her.

Dustpaw smiled warmly as Fadedpaw gingerly padded over to join him. "You seemed kind of lonely, so I thought you'd like some company." He nudged the mouse over to her. "You can have the first bite."

Only a second after Sparrowpaw had fastened his claws into her pelt, Ashstream began bucking and thrashing about, trying to throw her apprentice off. Echoing his thoughts, she meowed, "Gotta have a good grip so that you don't fall off!" She then paused, reared up on her hind legs, and added, "And you also have to remember that a big cat like me can easily roll over onto my back and crush a little cat like you, so make sure to jump off before I do that!" She tottered for a moment or two, giving Sparrowpaw a chance to leap away before allowing herself to fall flat on her back with a thud.

The tabby she-cat sat back down quietly, facing the water. Russetprint's tail was curled around her paws. She waited for a while before spotting a fish and quickly scooping it out of the water with her paw.

Fadedpaw shrugged a bit at the lonely comment before nodding. She bent down and took a bite of the mouse before nudging it over to Dustpaw. The she-cat gave a small smile at the tom.

Sparrowpaw wasn't fully quick enough to escape completely, his tail getting trapped under the older she-cat. He hissed a bit, mad at himself for being so slow.
