The Land of Ferden
In Ferden, every person is born blessed with a gemstone somewhere on their body. These gemstones are Houses for Magic. The type of gem you were born with dictates the type of Magic you are capable of learning, and the number of gems dictates the amount of Magic your body is able to contain. As you continue to master your element of Magic, your gem will glow brighter and often appear to be filled with swirling, glittering smoke of different colors. These gemstones are known to come in every variety, and some people have been known to have up to six gems on their body. For the people of Ferden, having a gem comes with a deep desire to master the magic, and when they do master it, beautiful tattoos that commonly feature vines or leaves sprout from the gem. But, doing this is dangerous. Over the years, a black market trade system of gems has festered. The gems are painfully removed from their owners, leaving the owners incapable of performing magic and with horrible scars. The Magic is then absorbed by the thief, but if the Magic is not compatible with their gem, the levels of Unhoused Magic will kill them slowly. When a gem is removed, the previous owner feels a sense of loss and emptiness that cannot be described.

All over the land, people search for Masters to train them in Magic. The search could go on for years, and most people never find a Master. However, a select few have been offered the chance to train with the finest instructors in the land: the Masters of the Royal Family. Perhaps you'll train with these Masters, and find a place in the Royal Guard. Or maybe you'll find yourself caught up in the midst of the illegal Gem trading. You may even live peacefully, making a living, falling in love, and settling down.



Types of Gems and their Magic
Most people are born with multiple gems. However, having more than five is incredibly rare.
You will be responsible for finding the type of gem that matches the appropriate coloring and magic type for your character.
BASIC MAGIC:
-Fire - Shades of Red or Orange
-Earth - Shades of Dark Green or Yellow Green
-Light - Colorless ike a Diamond, or Opal color patterns.
-Darkness - Black, typically opaque.
-Water - Shades of Dark Blue or Medium Blue
-Wind- shades of Cyan or Light Blue

-Ice (cannot learn without water experience)
-Electricity (cannot learn without light experience)
-Plant (cannot learn without water and earth experience)
-Metal (cannot earn without earth experience)
-Storm (cannot learn without darkness and water experience)
-Healing (cannot learn without light and fire experience)

Looks: Isis has black straight hair, and bright blue eyes. (She kind of matches her gems) She is average built, and wears a black cloak, with boots. She has a belt that she carries her weapons: A few daggers and a sword.
Full Name: Isis Roads
Age: 19
Type of gem/ number: Isis has 2 gems, Black, and blue diamond. They are both on the inside of her palms, she usually wears black gloves concealing them.
Species: Elf
Born in/currently in: Isis was born in crystal swamp lands, and now lives in Fioree
Rank/Occupation: Isis doesn't have a set occupation, she usually takes any jobs that find her. She makes most of her money by selling her paintings.
Brief History: Isis lived with her temperamental uncle, when her parents ran off. When she was 15 she learned the truth of her parents disappearance, her uncle wanted to use her gems for power. Long story short, Isis temper got the best of her and she ended up killing her uncle, by flooding the house. Ever since then shes lived with regret in Fioree, and she has no wish to use her powers, in fear of someone getting hurt.
Personality: Isis usually keeps to herself, her fear of her power has gotten the best of her. Once you get to know her she is said to be gentle, and kind person. She likes adventure, and is a bit of a rebel.
Since he's been by herself, she knows how to fight. Really well actually. She's not sure but in the back of her head she wants to be a guard, but isn't sure if she has what it takes.
Other: Isis has a pet black leopard, named Cessna. They are inseparable.

Age: 18
Type of gem/ # of: Total of 3. Red and light one on her wrists, and a green one underneath the light one.
Species: Human
Born in/current: Born in Ferden High Court Castle, and still there today. But she wants to explore.
Rank/occupation: Princess of Ferden
History/personality:Lilly has had a pretty simple life, although being the princess is sometimes annoying, she just want a normal life. She wants to go out and explore the world. Lilly is quiet and shy when shes around a lot of people, but she is really sweet and kind. She has a gentle spirit and loves the outdoors. She loves animals, reading, and adventure. She is curious of almost everything, which can sometimes get her into trouble.Even though shes princess of Ferden, you wouldn't be able to tell. She never puts herself over someone, she has strong belief of equality. She is in the process of learning healing, which puts herself more into her books. She can usually be found outside, either reading or with some sort of animal.

Type of gem/# of: 3 gems: Dark Fire and wind all placed in the inside of his wrist vertically.
Species: Human
Born in/Currently: Born in Tundra mountains, no current home. He travels a lot.
Rank/occupation: He takes any 'dark' job. He is a bounty hunter, mercenary etc.
History/personality: He never knew his parents, and grew up pretty much on the streets. He hates the cold and moved from his birth place. He doesn't know of any home, he just travels a lot and usually doesn't stay in one place for too long.Jay is the best qualified for being a bounty hunter, because hes sneaky, quiet, and can easily blend in with the shadows. He is usually well reserved and can have a temper depending on the circumstances. He doesn't know many people, besides those he works for. If anyone gets to know him, he is protective of his friends.(( If anyone wants to be friends with him I'll rp his 'other side' out. He is a really good guy at heart)) he's been in many fights, which have resulted in some scars.
Other: Jay has a dark bay beautiful horse, named Umbra. He has quite the character.


Looks: Alorn has a charming smile, and green eyes. His hair is shaggy blonde and he is average built. He is a generally handsome man.

Rank/occupation: Alorn travels around doing theatrical shows, he loves making people laugh, even if they just laugh at him.
History/Personality: Alorn left his home when he was 13 he doesn't have much of a relationship with his parents. Alorn is a charming, outgoing young man. He is charismatic, sometimes hyper, and he loves making people laugh. You rarely see Alorn Upset. He is sometimes seen as flirty, and he is a very kind man.
Other: Alorn has a pet hawk..named hawk.

Born in/currently: Kale never knew where he was born, some say his mother gave birth to him on a road just before she was killed. Kale was taken in by his mother's killer where he learned his skills.
Rank/occupation: Their, bounty hunter, assassin. He plans on taking over the high court. Once he's done with that His friend nd him will take over the rest of Ferden.
History/personality:^When his mother was killed, he was taken in by his mother's killer. He learned how to fight, kill, and black magic. He's always been bad, and he is a very ruthless orc. Don't cross his path.
Other: Kale has a pet eagle, named Raid. Like owner like pet.


::Looks: Serena is athletic and well built, she has one of those outward appearances that says she's a BA and doesn't take crap from anyone. Serena has light brown wavy-lightly curly hair. She has green eyes and is average built. She wears a cloak with a hood at all times, mainly for hunting, but it comes in handy when she camps outside...plus works well with sneaking around in the shadows. Serena wears(a lot like Eric's just mainly black, cool gear XD) ..nice fitting black pants with a few straps a long the belt line for hunting catches or just simply added weapons. Her boots are mid leg, close to the knee combat looking boots. They help her feet and legs move around more freely and quieter. Her shirt is just a simple black tank top, but of course you couldn't really tell since her short cloak covers most of her shoulders. Her cloak is a semi long cloak yet again black, it goes to mid thigh. Serena usually keeps her hair in a 'messy' pony tail or braid. You hardly see it down, but when it is its lengthy. Serena wears a silver necklace at all times, with a picture of her family in it. On her upper left arm is a spiral cuff braclet thingy..X3..it's also silver with a bit of gold intwined, this piece of jewelry came from an archery competition that symbolizes she won and got the 'best archer award' lol. It means a lot to her, since it was a big accomplishment for her. Serena over all all has kind a small figure, she doesn't necessarily relay on strength, but tactics and her agility/speed. Side note..She can't use throwing daggers, axes or any other big weapon worth a flying cow. She sticks to her close combat daggers, bow, and a thin light sword. Even though she has those other 2 weapons, she hardly uses them at all, besides small uses of the daggers like preparing food.

::Rank/occupation: Serena is an Expert archer(as in legolas from LOTR kind of expert XD) She hunts, and sells her catches to make money. She also builds traps,.and sells those as well.
::Brief history/Personality: Serena was born and raised on a farm. Her parents were in poverty, and her father taught her how to ride/break horses and how to shoot a bow since she was just a little girl. When she turned 17 their farm caught on fire by a storm and took everything away. Her parents and her survived, even her horse Pirate. Pirate however got burned and still has the scar patched across his once flawless face. Pirate is a solid black horse, Serena and Pirate were always meant to be, they work as a great team. Pirate is not only fast but agile too. On The far Pirate, and Serena used to jump over logs and fallen trees all the time. However since the fire, Serena and Pirate are terrified of fire. That's their main weakness.When her family's farm burned she left home, as her parents wanted her to for a better life, she took what she learned from her father and is now a successful Hunter/archer. When she turned 18 She found her family in Arnen hills, where they are succeeding more than ever. After that brief visit, she left again to travel. Serena is a tough 'cookie' and certainly knows how to hold her own. She loves hand-hand combat and often likes to take bets at any Taverns to fight. Serena is highly adventurous and is a bit of a loner, however she can be outgoing. She is athletic, and agile as well. If she doesnt know you/doesn't like you she can be a smart butt, and snappy. Bit over all she's a pretty easy going person. Serena is a dare devil, and isn't afraid of much besides the fire^ Which can make her freeze up in fear. She's firey and spirited, and likes to take action. However her anger or eagerness gets her into trouble sometimes.

Age- 19
Type of Gem/Number of Gems- I have four gems. The Amber/fire gemstone in my right shoulder is a ruby red and orange color. The Tiger Eye/earth gemstone in my left shoulder is a mix of bronze, silver and gold color. The Lapis Lazuli/water gemstone on the small of my back is a mix of light and dark blue colors. My last gem the Zultanite/light gemstone is in the center of my chest it is clear but when light hits it. It bounces off of it in a rainbow of colors
Species- Half human and half dwarf
Born In/Currently In- I was born and raised in the Greater Peaks Village. And that is where I am right now
Rank/Occupation- Blacksmith
Brief History/Personality- Lekunai is friendly and headstrong. She has lived her whole life in the Great Peaks village with her dwarven father who taught her how to be a blacksmith. After her mother died when she was born. Thankfully she looks a lot like her mother than her father. But she did inherited her strength from her father

Species- well I used to be an elf but now I'm a dark elf.
Born In/Currently In- I was born in the crystal swamplands. Now I live in the Faren Forest.
Rank/Occupation- Hmmm well I'm evil I will do whatever that pleases me.
Brief History/Personality- Well not much to tell I was born in the crystal swamplands and raised alone by my grandmother. I got a taste of the dark evil magic and it changed me. I used to be sweet, innocent, good little elf girl. But once I got the taste of the dark stuff I became harsh, unmerciful and a little insane. After the elders found out what I was doing I was banished from the swamplands when I was still a little girl playing with magic. Now I'm more evil than ever before and I will take out my revenge on anyone.

Born in the thick woods, he has since become something of a drifter. He's never had a "home" necessarily, but he's the kind of person that can make any place his home.

He's a gambling con-man/entertainer. His best childhood friend Meg would always tell him he was born to make people happy to let him rob them blind. He earns his money at odd jobs- from a stint as a deck hand to a singer/magician in a bar to thief, etc. Name a job and he's probably tried it.
Brief History/Personality--
Born to irresponsible, flighty parents, Cole never really had a "childhood" per stay. He had two periods: the time when people were eager and willing to let the cute little kid batty the night on the hearth, and the time when people smile at him in passing but no longer offer the sofa. He never minded, however. From an early age he put his long, dexterous fingers to good use learning card tricks and other slight of hand. In a world full of actual magic, making a card or a quarter or a puppy disappear behind a kids ear may seem like a silly thing to learn, but Cole doesn't mind. Much like a sponge, he'll absorb any knowledge he can find. He's happy go lucky, confident, and flirty. Very charming.

I would probably also use Luke or Rye (((Luke is dark as in inner self-directed anger and occasional depression but genuinely tries to be a good person- always the self - sacrificing sort, trying to make up for past failures. He is a nice guy and I promise he's not the moping, annoying 'I hate everybody and myself' character haha- but Rye is angry at the world and likes to cause damage. A lot of damage. He hurts others because he himself is hurting- he had no father and a very very very bad mother. He'll take any job as long as it's dangerous and requires exertion. He is fun to play just cuz of how ruthless he can be, but Luke is the more compatible one ^^ )))
As for my female, I'll either use Aria, Meg, or Arabella... Their bios are in my siggie if you want to look em up...

Brief History/Personality- Faren is kind, good nature and charismatic. He lived in Aren Hills for a while then became a trader after he successful sold three herbs to a man who didn't want the herbs at first. He doesn't talk about his family much nut once he trust you he will open up about it.

Brief History/Personality- Eric's history is filled with hardships and struggles and he doesn't tell anyone no matter who it is. He is a mysterious person who is sometimes cruel towards others. But only when they deserve it he can occasionally be gentle and warm hearted if you crack open his icy defensive shield.

Luke is pretty dark and private, but he’s a real sweet heart once you get past the darkness that acts as a self defense mechanism. He’s not as quiet and “go with the flow” as others, in fact he’s kind of a rebel. Luke is a bit of a counter culture in and of himself. He likes his weapons sharp and his friends loud so he can hide out in the trees or sit in the corner of a party (quietly judging the people around him) for a few hours and not be noticed if he feels like it.
