"Her name is River and she's our friend." Blaze explained. "Anyways...the fights between Winter and anyone else don't usually end like that. He looked really rough."

Seth walked off in the direction of his room. He wanted sleep now more than anything.

Jasmine nodded. "She doesnt seem friendly. But the fights, how do they normally end then?"

[stormy tom]

"Winter usually destroys his opponents. He can cut with his bare hands you know." Blaze sighed. "But lately...something happened and he's been gravely affected by it. Not just physically but mentally as well. His heart is broken."

River took Winter to his own room where it would be quieter. She laid him down on his back and sat with his foot in her lap. "What were you thinking, idiot?"

"Broken heart huh? Which one of these girls fell for him? He doesnt seem like a great fighter ro me." Jasmine smiled and stood up. She was hungry because she hadnt had breakfast yet. She needed some food.

River got up and left him sleeping. She went to nap in her own room.

Winter got up as soon as she left. He opened his eyes and stood up, heading for the the cafe. He was hungry again.
He moved silently and sat alone in his corner, hands clutching his head and his eyes wide and starin into space. It was almost too much to handle.

"You wouldn't say that had you seen him fight properly. He's risked his life for people here you know. Maybe if you look at his eyes you'll see their colors and understand" Blaze stayed and watched her leave.

Jasmine shruged. She had no idea what Bblaze was talking about. She walked into the cafeteria and grabbed some sandwich materials before sitting down. At least she could be alone without people implying she knew things that she didnt.

Winter saw her enter and stood up. He took a deep breath and walked slowly towards her, sitting down at the table across from her. "Mind if I sit with you? It gets lonely in the corners and no-one else really fancies sitting with me." Winter asked quietly. He let out a sigh and closed his eyes, letting his head rest on his folded arms.

"Um sure. Im Jasmine by the way although Blaze keeps implying that I know you or something, I think she is crazy. But then again, everyone says I know how to fight which I clearly dont." Jasmine took a bite out of her sandwich.

Winter sighed. "I'm Winter and yes, Blaze is crazy." He sat up and opened his eyes slowly, taking her in. He had to fight not to get up and kiss her. "Frankly, I'm not as good as people think I am. I'm just good at putting on a face. Even if I was good there'd be no way I could have beaten Seth anyways. He's just too good for me." He stared blankly out into space. "I know what it feels like to have people expect more than you can offer."

"Not according to Blaze at least. She said something about how you destroy people and that you have risked your life for people here. Then Im pretty sure she tried to tell me I have seen you fight, but not before today." Jasmine finished her sandwich and pushed the plate aside.
