The Love That Shouldn't Exist 1x1

After I fixed him some coffee, I sat down across from him on the couch. I hated coffee, personally, so I didn`t bother trying to drink it. He smiled slightly at me, causing me to look down before meeting his gaze. "So,um, why are you here?" He chuckled,"Good morning to you too. I`m here because you left rather quick last night, so I asked around and found out you lived here and..I wanted to know if you`d like to have breakfast with me?" I looked at him for a long while, giggling softly to myself. 'I left rather quickly hoping you`d get the hint.' I twirled a piece of hair around my finger before responding,"Well..I uh, actually have a date today." He frowned before shifting in his seat,"Uh, who?" I chewed my bottom lip before smiling,"Phyre."

I moved away from the window and back to my cluttered desk, I still needed to put away my paints. One of the new pieced i had done instead of sleeping last night was of a girl and a wolf. the girl didn't look like anyone I knew, but I felt like the girl was Zoey. She was curled up in a ball, with the huge wolf circled around her, protecting her, though the girl was crying and the meadow they were in was burning. The second painting was happy compared to most of my work. Soft blue, grey and gold created the image of a blue girl, standing next to a grey person, and the golden sunrise silhouetted them both. "Hades, I need help...I think I'm falling."

"Oh." The one word made his disappointment more obvious then his frown. I smiled, nodding my head. "Sorry Max, I'm into girls. To be more specific; her. You're a great guy..But ya' know.." He ran a hand through his hair with a sigh, "I just thought..Why her? There's nothing special about her!" The anger in his voice made me flinch, but I frowned at his comment, "Oh but there is. Her gorgeous eyes, her long hair..The way her smirk teases you..Makes you want just a taste. Oh and that bum of hers, let me tell you it--" He cut her off by suddenly standing. "I get it..Good luck. And once you realize she's only gonna play you like a sick game, give me a call. I'll be waiting until the." With that, he let himself out, leaving me in a confused daze. I stood, murmuring," You're welcome for the coffee." I grabbed his mug, walking into the kitchen, placing it in the sink. I jumped up, wincing when my bum hit the rim of the counter before I finally ended up on the cold surface. I sighed, letting my head fall against the cabinet. Great, I said I had a date with her, but I haven't even called her and asked her. Way to go, Zoe.

I felt the uneasiness in the air and looked out the window in time to watch max leave. Thank goodness he was already gone. I have a light sigh and jogged down the stairs, I smiled at Minx who was quietly sitting in the kitchen eating. "I'm going out for a bit, if you two need me, just call." I said as I walked ou the front door, I walked over to the parking spaces and found my little Yamaha road bike. I pulled on my helmet and kick started it to life, a good long drive was what I needed, perhaps a little of my favorite hang out too. I pulled out of the complex and took off quickly, there was a cute little tea house down the road a few miles, and Ixion ruined my previous coffee by breaking my usual morning routine, a cup of earl grey would fix it just fine.

With a soft sigh, I leapt down from the counter. I skipped into my room, glancing in the mirror that hung smug on my door. I winced at the girl who gazed back. My hair was a bigger mess than I thought. 'Maybe that's the real reason he left..' The thought caused a giggle to bubble in me. "Nah." I walked over to my bed side where Phyre's number laid. I picked it up, chewing my bottom lip. 'What if she turns you down?' The thought earned a frown," Well..She seemed interested last night.." 'Yeah, but it was also late and it was an innocent compliment. It could mean absolutely nothing at all.' That thought, made me think. And think. I shrugged, setting the paper back on the table side. I walked into the bathroom, starting the water and waiting for it to warm up, before pulling the thing on top of the facet making the shower begin. I stripped down, gazing at myself once again. I shook my head, I was so pale it seemed. Oh well. I stepped into the warm water, shivering as the water hit my cold skin. I began to wash my hair, scrubbing it thoroughly then rinsing. I washed my body, and after rinsing myself off, I stepped out, wrapping a fluffy red towel around me. I walked back into the room, taking the rough paper into my hand. "Do it," I whispered softly to myself. I dialed the number, taking a deep breath before putting the phone to my ear and praying she answered.

A sharp buzzing in my pocket startled me a bit and I pulled over, killing the engine, I yanked off my helmet and answered the phone after four or five buzzes. I barely caught the call. "Hello?" I said and I threw out the kickstand and sat back on the bike. It was an unknown number....was it? I waited patiently for the reply

I jumped as Phyre`s voice answered. I chewed my bottom lip before smiling,"Hey. It`z Zoey." I gazed down at my smooth legs, poking them nervously. I don`t know why I was nervous, I guess for once little Ms. I don`t care, suddenly cared..And let me tell you I do not like it. I waited patiently, or at least as patient as I can be. Knowing me, my anxiety sometimes overrules everything else I have to say. I ran my hand over the warm smooth surface of my legs, smiling as I realized I did a pretty good job, not one small stud of prickly hair in sight nor touch.

I let out a silent sigh of relief, "So, you finally called." There was an obvious cheery tone to my voice, I was very happy that she had worked up the courage to dial my cell. I stepped off my bike and sat down on the curb next to it, resting my helmet on my knees, tracing the decals with my index finger.

I smiled slightly at her reply,"Um, yeah..Hey, I was wondering if you`re up to maybe hang out? Like..Maybe on a date?" I mumbled the last part, my sudden shyness getting the best of me. I twirled my wet hair, my eyes still fixed on the carpet below my feet. I dug my toes into the carpet, smiling slightly. I suddenly had a boost of confidence about that. Then her words echoed in my mind..'So you finally called'..Was she waiting for me? A sudden rumble of butterflies fluttered in her stomach, she was actually hoping I would call.

"Mmm, A date?" I paused, giving her a moment to think, a moment to think that I really had to consider it. "I think I can do that...How about 6:30 tonight? I'll come over to your place, then we can go out and do something alright? I suggest wearing jeans or shorts, I think I know what we can do." I was beyond excited, It had been a while since I had picked up a date in such an innocent way.
