Hailey walked slowly out of camp borders, wary of any monsters. She wondered how long this would take. A week? Two? Three? She shook the thoughts off for later. Hailey looked around. "Hey, I could shadow travel us to the outskirts of the city, but no farther, unfortunately.." She remembered the time she'd tried to travel cross-country and nearly went into a coma, and shuddered at the thought.

The trio walked in mostly silence down the hill, everyone too unsure of themselves and too preoccupied with their own thoughts to make any attempt at conversation. It was awkward, at least for Arcadia. Almost painfully so. The logical thing to do would be to just say something herself, though her words always got caught in her throat every time she thought she had something. So instead she settled for the quiet, walking in the middle of the other two with her hands in her jacket pockets and her eyes down at the path before her.

They stopped when the reached the road that ran below the strawberry fields. A single car drove past them, stirring up a cloud of dry dust in front of the small group. Arcadia coughed, screwing up her face and giving the car a not-so-nice gesture with her hand. She shook her head, crossing her arms as she looked to the other questers.

"Shadow travel?" She considered the option. She'd always assumed that shadow traveling was a Hades' thing, but Thanatos wasn't that far of a stretch from Hades, so she supposed it made sense. "I could try to help. I can move objects-" She looked down at her feet and picked out a nicely sized pebble, focused hard on it, and then poof, it was in her hand. "I don't see why people would be any different." She glanced between the two of them as she let the rock fall back tot he ground. "We should definitely check out New York, though. The monster will probably be somewhere in the city."

Hailey nodded. "Shadow traveling is a bit different than moving objects, however." She stopped herself from explaining, as it was a bit of a complex subject. "Its very draining, however, so I'm not sure if its worth it... I've never actually tried to travel with one other person, let alone three, and it wouldn't be good if someone got, uhm, lost.." Hailey winced at the thought. "No telling where someone would, erm, end up." She shook her head. "And its not too far, is it? I've never walked the distance. If its too far, I could try..."

Aiden thought about it but then decided shadow traveling was just to risky for them to use. "How about we just keep walking towards the train station over there." he said and pointing towards a place in the distance. "I'm pretty sure we could take a train and end up in the city at Penn Station. Then we could roam around and ask about any suspicious activity, unless you guys have a better idea?" Aiden said with a tone of arrogance. This quest was going to be a piece of cake he thought.

"Sure... that should work." Hailey tried to ignore the tone in Aiden's voice. As they walked, Hailey trailed over more to the side of the road, under the shadows of the trees. She preferred it to walking in the sunlight, and it would be easier to hide if the need came. Hailey put her scythe over her shoulders and held onto the grips, because she didn't feel like using it as a walking stick anymore.

Arcadia was about to object, to say that it can't possibly be that different, when Aiden spoke up. She slumped back and gave a halfhearted shrug, nodding only after Hailey had agreed. She didn't understand why they would rather walk when they could just fast-travel there, but whatever. The train couldn't be that bad, right?

Since there didn't seem to be a train station out in the middle of no where, the trio had to settle for waiting for a bus. Thankfully they didn't have to wait long, and were just in the nick of time for the bus to come rolling down the road. It screeched to a halt, opening up squeaky doors to let the group inside. Arcadia walked up the stairs and paused at the driver's seat, asking him if his route would take them near a train station, or perhaps New York itself. He grunted and waved his hand, nodding and mumbling something about there being a bigger station near the next stop before asking if they were planning on paying or not.

Arcadia huffed, looking wounded, though quickly took her bag off her shoulders, unzipping it and digging around until she pulled out three seemingly blank cards. She bit her lip and slid them one-by-one in the small machine at the driver's side. The monitor flashed an error message, but with a bit of concentration she manipulated the mist to make the man read just what he wanted to see- a big green 'passed' sign. When the driver nodded and told them to just sit down already she breathed a sigh of relief and followed Hailey and Aiden to a set of seats near the middle of the bus.

As they drove down the road, Arcaida wondered if she should feel bad for scamming the man. She told herself that the guy probably didn't accept golden drachmas, and that if she had had the mortal money she would have gladly payed it, but desperate times called for desperate measures. She'd just have to do something really good to restore balance to the world, that's all. She sighed and sank into the hard seat, hoping that this ride wouldn't take long or it'd seriously mess up her back.

Aiden held his tongue, resisting the urge to tell the bus driver off, after he rudely treated Arcadia. He had seen her manipulate the card reading machine, and had to admit that took skill. He walked behind her and sat down in the seat next to her, leaving Hailey to sit on her own on the left side. "Good thinking, let's hope this ride isn't too long I would hate to be sitting in the seats for half an hour or longer. Also nice trick with the bus passes, can you also pull a rabbit from a hat?" he asked jokingly. She had seemed a little upset over what she had to do so Aiden wanted to erase that wounded look from her face. For some reason, it tugged at his heart to see her upset .

Arcadia shot him a look at his attempt at a joke and rolled her eyes. "Thanks." She tried to make it sound sincere, since Aiden had sounded pretty genuine, but she was never one to take compliments well. "Yeah, probably. Got a hat?" She smirked, arching an eyebrow, sitting up in her seat a bit more.
