Lessa looked at Velvet and frowned. She would mount the mare in the stall. She shook her head and walked out to grab a saddle and blanket. She came back and quickly saddled her up. "Just a quick ride" She said gently and picked up the reins and bit to put on instead of a lead rope.

Adara spurred Angel put of the gate with her heels and the mare took off, covering the ground quickly. Adara fought back a laugh as they approached the first turn. She had made sure that Angel was warmed up as they walked up and down the track several times before jogging and slowly picked up speed. She had been very careful with her mare her whole life. She felt Angel turning and soon they would be on the other long end. The mare had solid footing and Adara had been scrupulous about verifying about the ground being good. Even with the preparations, Angel missed a step and she went down, taking Adara with her. She stood up and ran to her horse. Angel was on the ground on her side but she quickly rolled to the right side up and struggled to stand. Adara felt relieved she could stand, but began to check her legs. None were swelling or hot, but Adara certainly didn't want to push her. "Are you okay?" She asked breathlessly and looked at her mare who nuzzled gently. Adara forced a shaky laugh from her mouth and she rubbed Angel's shoulder happily. "Let's walk it off for a bit" She suggested and forced her voice to be steady. She started walking along the track, her legs shaky and her breaths were hard to come by
