ᴀʟʟɪsᴏɴ ᴘᴇᴄᴋ listened to Daniel, thankful when Jack stayed next to her. She answered carefully. "My life here was *crap*. If all of these dreams end up being horrible, I don't know what will happen in this house. A carnival is supposed to be great and we almost got eaten by a dragon. If something is already bad, how much worse will it become?" She looked out of the window behind her bed. They were still in New York, but the house was two hours away from the city. No way they could get back home quickly enough if they were walking. She would know.
Turning back to the others, she felt Merritt trying to read her thoughts. 'Stop that," she snapped at him. "If I wanted you to know I would have told you." She heard footsteps again, this time right outside the door. Allison darted over to where a calendar hung on the wall. The date said November 13th, 2009. She knew what happened on this date. This was the day before she ran. Sure enough, there was a banging on the door. "Get out here, little *brat*!" Allison glared at the door, clenching her hands into fists. "I know you're in there," her mother shrieked.
ʜᴇɴʟᴇʏ ʀᴇᴇᴠᴇs wondered why Allison was looking at the calendar, but the girl seemed to know something. Was today special for some reason? Just then, the footsteps increased and a woman's voice started yelling. Allison didn't look scared anymore, she looked angry. Like she was about to kick some butt.
(lol, I like how I accidentally made Allison's super long and Henley's is like two sentences.)
