Zeth wondered silently within his own mind who would reach the prey first. He or that other someone - who was bound to have noticed his presence by now. What would he do if he had to face whoever it was? For a moment he hesitated; trying to decide whether or not he should turn away and get away from there as fast as his legs could carry him. As he stood a little higher, trying to look above a bush he realized how dumb running away would look to others.
‘I’m not a darn coward...’ he silently thought to clear his head from those cowardly thoughts.
There, inside the bush he could see the pure white fur belonging to a white rabbit that minded its own business; it was still unaware of its predators that came closer. He licked himself around the mouth – he could already taste the rabbit just by looking at it with a greedy gaze. His stomach growled, forcing him to attack his prey before it could realize what the sound was. At first it seemed like it would get away, but he managed to get hold of its leg and later forcing it down on the ground beneath his paws. Out of curiosity he turned his gaze away from the rabbit, looking at the dark surroundings for a moment. He wanted to know if he could see the other one yet, and a vague part of his being wanted to see that someone’s face since he most likely got their prey before them. Behind some bushes he could see a faint red glow that almost looked like one of the humans’ fires.
