May
Walking towards the entrance, May could help but feel nervous, it was her idea to take Deonte, in fact as he walked by her now she could tell that he was a little scared, it wasn't till after she boarded the carriage that she started thinking of what type of drinks may or may not be serving, or the type of people that will be there... Though she couldn't leave him for whole week. She noticed a couple couples lingering at entrance, her cousin being among them. She allowed a smile, it was nice to know he made it. Though she didn't stop to say hi, the first few minutes with your date should something special.
Date. The word reminded her of Darius, and she had to admit, she was slightly nervous about going with him. It wasn't that she didn't know him or of that sort, though this would have to be her first date, what is one supposed to do on a date? Maybe she should wait for him here? Stopping, she look at Deonte, no. If she didn't have to play the much loved role of a mother, she would have.
Bending over, she started to smoothing out his suit, frowning slightly at the oversize, she really hoped no one would make fun of him for it.
"Now remember Deonte, if you don't want to dance with a person who asked, you don't have too, just remember to say 'no thank you' and do be polite. And don't take drinks from anyone but Darius or me, alright? Oh, and ask me to get you a drink instead of getting one yourself.. OK?"
Deonte
Deonte was indeed scared as he walked beside his adopted mom, he knew May was a good person, but how would everyone else act? Especially Darius.. May seemed to like him, though could be acting or maybe he didn't like kids or.. or...
Not being able to think of any other reasons, but still worried, he looked up at May, she seemed so calm about the whole thing, maybe there really wasn't anything to worried about.
Stopping as May had, Deonte listened to what she had to say, nodding at the right times. He actually enjoyed it when she went into 'mom mood', it made him feel loved and cared for..
"Of course May."

May winced a little, why couldn't he just call her mama? Though she didn't not to mention it, he will in time.. Finally they walked through the doors, she couldn't help but gasp in delighted surprise when she saw the ball room. In all her days she had never saw something so.. poetic.

Deonte stayed behind May, and, although he was eight, he peeked out like a toddler.
