A small smile crept to Anna's face. "Yeah?"

"Yeah," he said, smiling at her.

Anna smiled. "Well in that case..." She scribbled her phone number down on a slip of paper, then ripped it out and handed it to him. "Since I'm not out of your league, you should call me sometime."

"I'll be sure to do that," he said.

Anna smiled. "And the word around the school is that you're pretty fluent in French. Think you could help me with my French homework sometime?"

"Sure. My mother's from France," he justified for his fluency.

Anna's eyes lit up. "Wow, really? That's so cool!"

"Yeah. My dad was sent over cause he was in the army," he said.

Anna smiled. "So they met in France?"

"That's right," he said.
