Sarah pressed her lips to the top of his head and squeezed her eyes shut as her tears began to slow. "I know," she whispered. "I love you."

"I love you too," he said.

Sarah gazed down at him and gently smoothed his hair back from his face. "Do you remember anything?"

"I remember being on the phone, then the cars," he said.

Sarah flinched. "I'm sorry."

"No," he said. "It wasn't your fault."

"I don't care if it was my fault or not. The fact is that you got hurt. I'm sorry." Sarah leaned down and pressed her lips to his forehead.

He sighed. "Don't be sorry."

Sarah sighed. "Okay, baby." She pulled back and gazed down at him, placing her hand on his cheek gently. "I was so worried." She placed one more kiss to his forehead before pulling away again. "Do you want me to call your family, or do you want to rest for a while?"
