Sarah nestled into her and just stayed there. After a while of silence, she spoke up again. "I'm sorry, Mama. I really am."

Emily sighed. "We just all missed you a lot is all. Besides PTSD can get bad without a reason." She leaned back against her headboard as well.

JJ sighed and looked at his knees.

Emily leaned into him. "It's okay, Jayje."

JJ hugged her again.

The next day around noon, Luke's eyes fluttered. He groaned as a wave of pain washed over him. The lights above him were bright, causing him to blink rapidly. "Am I dead?"

Kris had stayed with Luke all night. Jamie had went to get lunch for Sarah and his mom. When Luke spoke, Ktis looked over. "Luke?"

Sarah had crashed in a chair somewhere around six in the morning, so she was still fast asleep.

Luke groaned again in pain as he turned his head to his wife. "Kris?"

Kris rubbed his forehead. "Yeah, I'm here baby." She looked him over. Her eyes hadn't been dry since last night.

Luke reached up and took her hand in his, wincing at the effort. "Are you okay, baby?" he whispered, his voice hoarse.
