Luke nodded. "Okay."

Kris nodded and kissed his head again.

Luke closed his eyes and sighed. It was almost time for his medication.

Kris rubbed his back, sitting by him.

"Kris?" Luke asked quietly.

"Yeah?" She asked, looking at him.

Luke looked over at her. "Is Sarah ever coming back?" It had been a year since he'd seen her last.

"I... I don't know, babe," she whispered and pulled him into a long hug where his head was on her chest. She pur one arm around his torso and the other hand stroked his hair. "I don't know," she whispered in his hair.

Luke winced as she said she didn't know, but allowed himself to sink into her embrace. His head rested against her chest. "I miss her," he whispered sadly. "I miss my baby girl."

"I miss her too," she said, trying not to sound as broken as she really was. It was Luke's turn for comfort, not hers.
