Sarah stayed close to his side. She wiped her eyes again quickly, making sure she didn't look like she'd been crying. "How do you want to celebrate your birthday?" she asked, her voice starting to sound more normal again.

JJ shrugged. "I don't know. We could go to the park and hang out or we go to the movies."

Sarah nodded slightly. "We can do whatever you want, Jayje." She leaned up and kissed his cheek.

JJ smiled and kissed her head. "Okay."

"Go ahead and pick something. It's your day." Sarah offered him a smile.

"Once you aren't upset anymore," he said.

Sarah nodded. "Will you help me calm down?"

"Yeah," he said.

Sarah nodded and hugged him, closing her eyes as she rested her head against his chest. "Tell me something. Anything. It can be a story or just random words, but just talk."
