"I know, Kris," Luke said softly. He held his arms out for her. "C'mere, baby."

Kris gently laid Alanna down and crawled into Luke's arms. She started to sob again.

Luke clutched her closer and buried his face in her hair. "It's okay," he whispered, rubbing her back. He squeezed his eyes shut.

Kris cried heavily into him. She just let him hold her.

Luke held her close, worried for her. He was extremely sad over the loss of Alanna, and terrified of how this had happened. If Alanna had been stabbed by someone in the house, then that person still had to be nearby.

Kris hugged him tightly. She was still crying but it was slowing as she got weaker from it.

Luke pulled her even closer, trying to comfort her in any way that he could. After a few minutes, the paramedics arrived. Luke stood and gently helped Kris up, leaving his arms around her. "Thank you," he breathed to the medics as they loaded Alanna onto a stretcher.

Kris stayed silent, not moving frim his armd.

Luke looked away as they covered Alanna's body with a blue sheet and wheeled her out.

Sarah was upstairs in her room when she heard all of the commotion. She rushed downstairs. "What's going on?" That was when she saw the stretcher. All the color drained from her face. "No."

(What if when they get back Kris gets tried because they never found the killer?)

Kris looked over. "Oh baby... Come here," she said.
