About a week later, Kris was sitting in her room, looking at hotels in tome.

Luke sat down beside her. "Find anything yet?" he asked, peering at the screen over her shoulder.

"N-" she stopped wheb she heard her grandmother scream. She got up and ran down. There Alana was, a knife in her stomach and blood everywhere. She was sitting against the cabinets on the floor.

Luke lifted his head and frowned. "What...?" He got up and hurried after Kris. When he saw Alanna, his eyes widened. "Oh my God." He rushed forward and dropped to his knees at her side. He picked up her wrist and felt for a pulse.

Kris gathered Alanna into her arms. She was still alive but barely. "No look at me. You have to be okay. You have to," she said. She pushed her hair out of the way. Alanna couldnt breathe. She was shaking as she tried to breathe.

"We have to staunch the bleeding," Luke said quickly. "Stay calm Alanna, we're getting help." As he dialed 911 with one hand, he grabbed a towel and began to attempt to staunch the blood with the other. "Stay with us, Alanna." He tried not to sound panicked.
