"No I'd like you to stay," he said.

Not many understand the comfort I get when I walk into a bookstore and take a deep breath as I look around. I feel at home; I feel welcome. I don't have to purchase anything. Being surrounded by books fills me with a sense of security.

Sarah nodded a bit. She paused for a moment, then looked into his eyes again. "Tell me what you're feeling right now."

Sarah bit her lip thoughtfully. "What do you suggest we do about this? Because quite honestly, I had to blink away the fireworks in my mind a few seconds ago."

"You know what? Screw it. Just kiss me again, we can work it out later." Sarah was thoroughly surprised by how forward and honest she was being, but then again, he was her best friend. She could tell him anything. Not only that, but now there was another feeling there when she pictured his face or when their hands brushed. She couldn't quite place what it was, but she liked it. It gave her butterflies. Everything had happened extremely suddenly, but now all she wanted was to kiss him again and feel the fireworks go off in her mind. Jake never made her feel like this.

Sarah kissed him back, wrapping her arms loosely around his neck like she had before. She deepened it again, but suddenly there was a knock on the door.

"Hey, JJ?" called one of his sisters through the wooden door. "Can I come in? I think I left something in here."
