"It doesn't matter whose fault it is," Cecilie mumbled. "Either way, we're still stuck here with no way of getting out. I'm scared and I'm tired and I'm hungry. You hardly get any sleep at all. We're falling apart."

Jack sighed when she said she wad scared and he hugged her tightly. "I won't let anything happen to you baby."

Cecilie wrapped her arms around his torso and squeezed her eyes shut. "I know you won't, Jack. But that's part of what scares me. In your attempts to keep me safe, I'm afraid you'll tear yourself apart. You hardly sleep anymore, Jack."

"I still sleep," he said. "I'll be okay."

"Hardly." Cecilie looked up at him. She loved that he was so willing to protect her, but she was scared that it'd destroy him.

"If you are really that worried, I'll lay down with you tonight and try to sleep."

Cecilie nodded in relief. "That would make me feel so much better." She lifted her head and kissed his cheek gently.

He nodded. "Alright then I will."

"Thank you." Cecilie looked up into his eyes. "I love you."
