Luke paced the house anxiously, nerves and excitement coursing through him. His mother would be there at any time that day, and he wanted to be ready when she arrived. Everything in the house had been cleaned twice.

Kris walked over and kissed his cheek. "Hey, baby. It's okay."

"I can't sit down. I've tried twice and I can't be still," he said quickly, then hurried over to a picture on the wall. "Is that straight?"

"Lucas, look at me. This house is to clean for Monk," she said. "It's perfect."

Luke looked at her and blinked when he used his full name. He sighed and collapsed onto the couch. "I'm so nervous, Kris." He ran his hands over his face.

"Yes, I know," she said, and kissed his head. She stood by him. "It'll be alright."

Luke groaned. "But what if it's not? What if I say the wrong thing it what if she doesn't like me or hardly remembers me or what if she gets drunk again or does drugs now or something?"

She sighed. "Luke, it's okay," she said, lifting his head. "It'll be fine."

Luke looked at her and took a deep breath, then nodded. "You're right. I'm probably just psyching myself out."
