"I didn't believe you... I just... I was hurt. I..." she sighed sobbing again. A pain had formed in her stomach, and she winced.

Luke shook his head and pulled her into his arms, not noticing her wince. He didn't notice her wince through the tears that blurred his vision.

Kristyna hugged him. "Luke... My stomach. It hurts."

Luke sniffled and wiped his eyes, looking down at her. He frowned deeply. "What do you mean?"

"My stomach..." she said. "It hurts. I think something's wrong."

Luke stopped crying and stood, gently pulling her up with him. Once they were both on their feet, he scooped her up bridal style. "Come on, we're taking you to a doctor," he murmured, not wanting to take any chances. With that, he carried her down to their rental car and set her in the passenger seat. "Just hang tight, baby. Everything will be okay."

Kris winced again, and nodded. She took his hand once they were in the car. "Mmm," she whimpered.

"Shh, it's okay baby, I promise," he whispered. His voice was hoarse from the crying, but he didn't pay attention to that as he started the car and sped to the nearest hospital.

Kris nodded and squeezed his hand. "I love you."

"I love you more," he said quietly, glancing over at her. Once they'd arrived to the hospital, he got out and carried her in again similar to the way he had before.
