Kris was asleep on the couch. The last two months were the hardest yet. She was in constant pain with fake contractions, plus the baby never stopped moving. Some days, she could hardly walk. The day before, her back was killing her. While she slept, her water broke which woke her. "L-Luke!"

Luke had fallen asleep on the floor beside her. He had decided the previous night that he wanted to keep her company. When Kris said his name, his eyelids fluttered. "Hmnh?"

She grabbed the fabric on the couch in pain. "Shea coming," Kris breathed.

Luke's eyes flew open and he jumped to his feet. "The baby? She's coming? Now?" He grabbed Kris's shoes, then carefully scooped his fiancé into his arms. "Come on, we need to get to the hospital. You'll be okay baby, just keep breathing." He hurried out to the car and placed her in the passenger seat, then sped off to the hospital.
