Luke stood in the doorway, dressed in uniform. He had his bag slung over one shoulder and was biting his lip as he waited for the bus to come. He didn't want to leave, but he knew he had to.

Kris stood in front of him, straitening his collar though she knew it was perfect already. She finished and put her hands on his chest. "Be careful, okay? If you get yourself killed out there, I'll kill you again." She reached up and kissed him.

Luke sighed softly and set his bag down at his feet. He took her hands in his. "I wouldn't dream of it," he murmured before kissing her back. He didn't want to leave.

Kristyna wrapped her arms around his neck, and after they kissed she put her face in his shoulder, trying not to cry.

Luke wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed his lips into her hair. "Everything will be okay," he whispered. "I can write to you and we can Skype every day if we need. I promise. And if I get myself killed, you have full rights to kill me again."

Kris gave a small chuckle, and nodded. "I love you, Luke," she murmured.

"I love you too," Luke said softly. A honk of a bus was heard as it pulled up out front. He sighed and pulled back. "I'll see you soon, okay?" He pressed a kiss to her forehead, then grabbed his bag and started out.
