Jack sighed. "I know, baby. But I will. Don't think negatively. And if I don't come home you have to go on. For your siblings, and for JJ. They need you."

Luke smiled softly. "That's what you think."

Cecilie held him tighter. If he were to pass, then she'd follow close behind. There was absolutely no doubt in her mind about that. "You have to come back to me," she whispered.

Kris laughed. "It's what I know," she said.

Jack kissed her softly. "I will, Cecilie," he said, and hugged her tight.

Luke laughed softly. "You're crazy."

Cecilie hugged him tightly, burying her face in his neck.

"Only about you," she said.

Jack held her, resting his head on hers.

JJ whimpered. "Mama sad!" he said.

Luke smiled and kissed her forehead.

Cecilie sniffled and lifted her head. She wiped her eyes and turned to JJ. "Come here, Jayje." She walked to him and lifted him from his high chair, holding him close. "Mama's okay."

She smiled. "Let's just stay here for a while?"

JJ hugged her neck. "Why you sad, Mama?"

Jack watched them, sighing.

Luke smiled and nodded. "Perfect."

Cecilie rested her head against his, rubbing his back gently. "Daddy has to leave for a little while," she murmured, "but not now. He'll be back, but I'm gonna miss him very much."

Kris smiled, hugging him.

JJ frowned. "I gon' miss Daddy too."

Luke hugged her back, completely happy. She'd said yes.

"I know, bébé," Cecilie murmured. "Me too." Her gaze fell on Jack as a tear rolled down her cheek.
