Cecilie watched them and chuckled.

Jack sat by Cecile.

Kristyna walked out to the garage, hoping Luke would be in there. She'd just got back from the doctor's appointment she had with her grandma.

Cecilie leaned against him and smiled.

Luke was indeed there, working under a car with his back on a skateboard. When he heard Kris walk in, he rolled out from under the car and grinned. "Hey, beautiful."

Jack kissed her head.

Kris gave him a small smile, sitting on a stool. "Hey, baby," she murmured.

Luke's smile faded when he saw the look on her face. He wiped his hands on a rag, then sat up and looked at her. "What's wrong?" he asked softly. "Did something happen?"
