Jack smiled, and kissed her cheek as he returned to his seat. A waiter came with some wine.

Cecilie smiled and watched him, picking her glass up. She sipped her wine lightly, then looked to Jack. "So will you tell me what we're here for yet?" she asked curiously.

"Not yet," he said and smiled at her. Another waiter came by with menus for them.

Cecilie chuckled softly. "I didn't think so." She thanked the waiter, then began to look through her menu. "You know, it's nice to be out on a date again."

Jack nodded. "It is. We haven't been on one since the day we decided to come to America."

Cecilie nodded. "Well, except for Valentine's Day and your birthday."

[bibliophile;]

"Why didn't we ever do anything for your birthday?" he asked.

Cecilie shrugged. "The kids wanted to celebrate and we didn't have time."

"We'll do something on your next birthday, I swear," he promised.

Cecilie smiled at that. "I would love that, amoureux."
