Mandy sighed. "No. We can't ignore the fact that you might not come home alive next time you leave. It has to be talked about sometime, especially now that we have Ellie.

"Stop!" Shane said. "I'm not going to leave you." He said. "I'm not going to die, okay?"

Mandy sighed, looking at her lap. "Okay."

Shane sighed. He was already worried about the possibility of dying and never coming back, and he didn't want to Mandy to worry about that too.

Mandy brought her knees up and rested her head on them. She just wanted to know that they had a plan for if that did happen.

Shane sighed, pulling her close to him. "I just want to spend every second of my life with you and never think about what if." He said.

Mandy sat in his lap. "But we're going to have to, Shane. I mean, everyone dies at some point in time. And I just want to know that when your time comes, me and Ellie'll be able to get on okay. We'd already be heartbroken, but if we loose everything else because you go, it would be even harder."

"You won't lose anything. I will always be here." He said, pointing to her heart. "I will always be there." He said.
