"You're welcome," she said as a thought came to her. "Did everything work out with your parents? I mean, the night we got back together and I stayed over because they were gone you were pretty tore up. Are things okay now?"

"Things are as okay as they're gonna get. I spend most of my time with you now though."

"You don't feel neglected anymore?" she asked, kissing his forehead.

"Good," she said, kissing him back. "I get worried about that. Like if I get snappy because if my headaches, or if I'm busy and can't talk. I always worry that I'm ignoring you and that it hurts you. That's the last thing I'd ever want, to hurt you. I couldn't live with myself."
