Jackson took a deep breath, nodding. "Okay." He said, crying. "Promise?" He asked.

She nodded, and wiped his tears. "I promise," she said. "C'mere, Jacks," she said, and pulled him in for a hug.

Jackson held onto her. "I'm not ready yet." He said. "I'm scared for you." He cried. "Really scared."

Maria rubbed his back. "What are you scared of, Jacks?" she asked. "I'll be okay."

"I don't know what I'm scared of, I just am. I guess it's because I love you, and I don't want to see you hurt." He said. "Or in pain, especially when I caused it." He said, sniffling.

"Oh, Jackson. It's okay," she told him. "I mean, yeah, it's gonna hurt but it's everything will be fine. I love you, too."

Jackson closed his eyes, resting his head on her shoulder. "I love you so much."

She nodded, and kissed his head. "I love you too," she said, rubbing his back.

Jackson looked at her. "I don't know if I'll be able to be in the room with you." He said, panicking again. "I'm so sorry. I'm letting you down. I'm such a baby. I'm a huge coward. I can't even be there for my girlfriend."

"Hey, no. It's okay," she said, rubbing his shoulder. "You aren't a baby, and you aren't a coward," she assured him. "You've been here for me a lot, and that's more than I could ever ask for. It's okay."
