((If you were in front of me right now, I'd be on my knees begging for your forgiveness. I am super-mega-ultra-very-extremely-excessively-massively-vastly-humongously-enormously-monumentally-tremendously-epically sorry for not replying, no, not even going onto CS for five days...straight. I may not have a valid excuse, but I have a good reason: Daylight savings time. That jacked up my internal schedules and my mood! For one, it took an hour off my weekend, totally not cool! This whole week I felt like I was waking up hours too early, even if it was really only one hour. Then I took a nap after school all week, 'cept today, and I don't take naps after school cause they end up making me feel like crap, but it was daylight savings time's fault for waking me up so early! Even now my eyes are chanting for an extra bit of sleep, and I would give in if it 6. It would be morning by the time I wake, which would be a waste of a Friday. Maybe I can sneak some coffee....Coffee sneaking mission was a success! ^^ I'm so stealthy I'm like a ninja! I'm like as stealthy as Naruto himself! .....After some thought, that doesn't sound like a compliment at all...Oh well! I'm hyped and I'm not sleepy anymore, haha! Wow, this is a big paragraph....I just finished my coffee T^T That was quick, it was good too! Mah! I have to stop rambling; there's sugar at the bottom of the cup, so sweet and yummy.))
Kari pushed herself up into a sitting position, trying, and failing, to suppress the pout that was threatening to puff out her cheeks. "I said I was ok." She huffed. It wasn't a complete lie, the pain was fading away, but it did hurt her pride. She was king, according to the crown on her head, and yet she couldn't fight off a couple of police. She wouldn't have minded much if this guy wasn't a civilian! Or was he?
"Hey, what's your name and status? Are you really a civilian?" Kari asked suddenly, her little depression suddenly overtaken by curiosity. Yata never did introduce him when they were stuck in that room. Now that she thought about it, Yata had said nothing about either of their statuses. Were they both civilians, or was that merely an assumption?
Kari had glanced over at Hikiro, he was crouching. He crouched a lot, at least when he was around her, but that was because she was usually on the ground, a fact that never seemed to enter her head. Maybe one day she could eventually get him to bow. And so, without much thought, if any, in that head of hers, she poked his left knee, then his right. She smiled a simple smile, why? Well, for the same reason she poked his knee: there was absolutely no reason. They were just thoughtless and childish actions.
Yata's sigh was silent, but he had noticeably sagged in defeat. Why did she continue to keep up a façade over something as trivial as being sleepy? "I don't see anything wrong with being tired." He murmured to himself. He was almost surprised to find himself feeling a little awkward. How did one deal with someone so...insistent over something so simple? Even Hiro wasn't this bad during his many annoying moments.
"I hope you don't mind sleeping with the light on then." He said with a little uncertainty. Here he was, tired and almost half asleep, sitting on the couch and having a conversation with a strange girl that didn't seem to want to compromise. "Unless you have any other ideas." He added softly, hoping that she wouldn't request anything difficult. At this point, he was willing to sleep on the floor, as long as it didn't upset her. Tomorrow, he decided, I need to figure out her pet peeves, so I can avoid them at all costs.
