I hadn't heard Elena's words, to caught up in my thoughts of the experiences I've had with ponies and horses. I spoke to Clara, "Also avoid all horses named "Sugar". They are not sweet." I said, with a shake of my head. Why are all the horses named Sugar ill-tempered?

I nodded absentmindedly. blinking, my gaze hit the ground. I wonder if we'll come 'round these parts again. I thought, rather curious.

"I had a goat named Sugar" I say and laugh "usually she's sweet but she has a temper. That's why she's called sugar and spice" (true story!) sighing I scoop up Jack and put him in my bag. "I think that's what I miss most. From Earth, I mean. All my pets"

"I miss my friends, " said Grace. "It would be awesome if they were here."

Elena smiled at her friends, before looking behind her. Rivendell glittered in the half-light as they left the building of the Last Homely House.
"Baren bar lin. Hannon le... na-den pedin ad," Elena murmured, and gave a little bow before turning to the Wilderness ahead.
Her mouth turned upwards at Elwing's words. "I had pets at home too. Earth, I mean," she sighed. "My two birds, a frog and a fish, though I was most attached to my birds. They were both female budgies, the sweetest I've ever had. I called them Candy and Melody, and they helped me get through the death of Twinkle," she trailed off, remembering her first 'real' pet.

"I had a grumpy old dog who snorted at everything." I said with a chuckle, "She was so mean to anybody she didn't know."

"A dog?" Elena glanced curiously at Clara, then chuckled. "I've never had a dog before, though all dogs seemed intent on sniffing my behind."
She glanced at her watch. 1:30, read the hand. Still they walked, and Elena found herself wishing she had brought one of her pets from home to New Zealand.
Oh, well, she thought, gazing around at the beautiful wildlife around her and the company. They were entering the Wilds. I will just have to make some new animal friends along the way,

I smirked "Yes, a dog." I sighed. "I think i'm getting a little homesick." I admitted, a bit embarassed.

I has listened silently to everyone's conversations for a while. "I had a hamster named smudge. He was brown and white and really friendly. I also had two cats named Simon and Muffin. They are the only things I miss about Earth as well." I didn't really think about it much as I was talking, my mind actually on The Shire.

Grace shook her head. "YOu all must have really sad lives if that's ALL you'll miss." she started ticking items off of her fingers. "I miss having electricity, because now I can't read in the middle of the night. And I miss my family. And doing all of the stuff I usually do, like riding my bike. But a lot of the awesomeness here makes up for most of that. Also..." She pulled out a cloth-wrapped bundle. "I brought a camera. It doesn't work very well, but I took a couple pictures. I had to make sure not to let the elves find it-that would have been weird. But now we can make memories and save them!"
