Shawn nodded and stepped out. He didnt want to risk scaring her sensless. He looked at Destiny and looked a tthe book. "Should i?" He asked, making sure it was ok with her. "If not, thats fine. I can go look for supplies for going into the house

I nod slightly "I don't see why not" I'm actually kind of anxious to find out what it says.

Shawn tok a deep breath and looked at the first heading. "there is no date..." He said then looked a the other pages. 'October 3rd... October4... October20th...' He thought. He looked at the writing, it was different. "Weird..." He said then begun. "I've found this note book, god knows how long its been here. I read the entries, i'm afraid of what happened. I decided to continue where this woman left off. I do hope she found a way off. I am walking as i write. I dont know what the date is, nor how much daylight i have. I explored the cave, when i found this. My daughter is frightened for what she saw. There were feathers and bones everywhere. I think a cat got to a bird. I calmed her down after seeing blood. I was forced to believe it was an animals kill, preferably someone of the animal kingdom. My daughter has been hyper aware of her surroundings, noticing everylittle noise. I am afraid if she may be right. There might be a pred... My recent descovery. I have found the woman responciple for this notebook, at least i think. Her vital wounds are just revulting. I couldnt dare have my daughter see such wounds. Her stomache..." Shawn paused. He felt sick reading that bit. "I'm going to skip ahead..." He said. He took a deep breaht and looked more down the page. "I've seen it. The thing. I dont know what it is, nor do i want to. I reached the mansion house, i'm not sur eif i am safe. I locke dthe door to a nice room where i set a fire. I am writing this in the dark, its probebly midnight. I cant sleep. No one can sleep here. All i wish is that someone, whoever gets ahold of this notebook, i pray they do not end up as the woman did."

I listen carefully as he reads. I take in a breath. I wonder what happened to the man and his daughter. The daughter. "Probably a little girl" I repeat. "I hope they lived." And I really do, especially considering that increases our chances for survival.

Shawn nodded and closed the book. He felt sick. "Thats enough for now..." He said and placed it in his jacket. He looked back to see Eli sitting, looking at the coals. She had her legs tucked close to her and her eyes were heavy. shawn took a deep breath and looked at the sun. "I dont think these things like the sun." He said and looked at her. "What do you think?" He asked.

I think about this for a moment. "Well, in horror movies most evil creatures don't like the daylight. Maybe it's the same principle. Dark creatures dislike dark things?" This sort of makes sense...

Shawn nodded. "Yeah..." Suddenly, his head jerked up with a smile. "Say that again, the horror movies part!" He said, and after she repeated, he gave off naother smile. "Well, this kind of is a horror movie creature, and and..." He thought for a minute. "What did they do with the zombies?" He asked, hopeing she would catch on.

I'm sort of confused. Zombie movies, not my strong suit.. Let's see... Well, they shoot them? Kill them in other ways? Try to hide? I really don't know... "Um... I don't know... They take the offensive?" I guess. I feel sort of stupid, but hopefully he can explain a little.

Shawn smiled. "They least expect the humans, non effected people, to come at them and attack them. Usually the zombi's are the ones who kill and hunt, but, the humans take the twist and fight them." He said and clapped his hand. He was excited. "Maybe, all the victems of this terrible cost didnt fight back. This could be our advantage!" He smiled and hugged her. "Your a genius!" He said and kisse dher forhead.

I smile a bit, glad that I didn't look as stupid as I felt. Shawn seems to be really happy about this, and it seems like it might work. I just hope no one gets hurt in the process. I'm thinking about how we should do this, when Shawn kisses me on the forehead. I hope he doesn't notice how much I'm blushing, if he asks it was just unexpected. That's it, and that is what I'm telling myself. I'm not a good liar.
"So how are we going to do this?" I ask casually.
