He shuddered a bit. "I'm glad that my species don't do that in order to attract mates."

"Mmm," he agreed softly. "Mating rituals are extraordinarily varied. And extremely interesting. And yes, entertaining too, for some species.
But I'm glad that humans don't do all of that..."

"Human mating rituals can be amusing, too." Aken responded. "Watching the adolescent boys try to 'pick up chicks', as they say. Watching them fail is the best part, not to be mean or anything."

"Mean, Flaaffy. Mean," the electrician chided, though both men were grinning. Yes, to other creatures humans were pretty strange, too. And yet, even with their immense differences, even though none of them really had a chance of understanding the others, they'd all come together into these Teams.

"There was one time. A young human male was trying to get my trainer's attention. He was kind of leaning on a table, with his hand on one of the lunchtrays.." Aken said. "It slipped out from under him, and he lost his balance. He went crashing to the floor! My trainer was not impressed by his weak attempt at a mating display..."
He shrugged. "She helped him up. And then said 'Leon. You're an idiot'. And I think then he knew that his possible mating display had failed."

The Rogues laughed at Aken's story, but the electrician had a thought. Wasn't that the name of the boy their pickpocket was interested in?

Frifth nodded, with a much more solemn expression, but he headed down the corridor. Anything for a meal... But he really didn't want to be in this base. Didn't want to stay, but if it was better for Inle, he'd have to.
