The pickpocket winced, eyes half-closed as the loud noises all barraged his senses at once. Arceus damn it, why couldn't it have been the Treecko!? At least the gecko Pokémon didn't bark! He understood what the Mightyena was trying to do, but with all the noise already going on... Gods, he was going to have a headache for a week!
The grunt who'd set the base on lockdown- no matter how much she hated that protocol- still hadn't made it to her room. Instead, she was in a staring contest with a Tyranitar. Injured, yes, but she didn't think it was Magma. How were all of these Pokémon getting here!? Two Scolipede and now a Tyranitar! Were Magma defences really that bad?
She resolved that once the lockdown was lifted, she'd check out the systems for herself, see if she could find a way of improving them to avoid wild Pokémon entering.
She had to get this thing out of here. But it was injured... oh damn it! She swore softly, cursing the fact that her mother had been a doctor; it meant she was more empathetic towards injured Pokémon than she was meant to be. "Tyranitar! If you don't want a battle, you will follow me, and follow me closely!"
"Ahhh."
Finally, peace and quiet. The Aqua grunt returned to his room, smiling as he found his Pokémon in the middle of a game, bouncing a light rubber ball to each other off of various limbs. "Are we having fun?" he asked as he headed to the table, setting their rations out for them. There wasn't much; there never was.
He petted his Electrike lightly as the Pokémon gave him a sad look. They both knew, they all knew, that the rations for the lower level grunts were not enough to keep them fit and healthy. Sure, they were better off than Rogues, far, far better off, but the meals were only ever just enough.
But today, he smiled at his Pokémon, fishing in his pockets for the extra food he'd stolen for them. His Team was happy, but he didn't miss the Electrike's pointed look. He smiled, and his Pokémon eventually went back to eating.
