He noticed; he always did. He knew she hated it when people saw. But today... today, she needed to cry. They all did. The rain had gotten a little heavier, just enough to mask the tears on her cheeks if Mariah dared to let them out.
"Mariah... it's... okay," he said quietly, stepping next to her. "Just... let them go. You can cry. He'd want you to cry. Remember how he was always trying to get you to show something? Please, just cry."
If she cried, he'd believe she was okay. Or at least, on the way to being okay. But staying so cold and distant... he couldn't tell if she was coping, or on the brink of destruction. He wondered if she could tell.
He sighed as he looked out over the water. "The decorations are beautiful. You went cranes as well..." They weren't traditional funeral icons, were they?
The Misdreavous glanced down at the calmly watching Ninetales, trusting it to sight any intruders. Still, it had remained quiet when it had seen them. "Kitsune, will you speak if you see something approaching?"
She trusted the Ninetales to be a good guard, but she could not risk the safety of her Trainer, or their team.
"Mmm, I thought so," the pickpocket answered, rising from his position cross-legged on a bed. He noticed the Rogue girl watching curiously and nodded to her. "Well, I don't plan on making enemies here. I'll pass on the Houndoom's. He tried to control his pace as he walked towards the door. Still, he wanted to get out of here. He had to find the others!
