Mariah's friend nodded. Fine. She needed to see for herself; that was normal. He followed, ready to offer support when the evidence was clear. Always practical, he thought. She'd already mentioned planning a funeral in the same breath as denying the possibility. Hmm, he still wasn't sure what her overall reaction was going to be.
Ash looked around as she ate her food. Her company was getting bigger and bigger, but she'd found herself without human company once again. She'd left Candace and Kate in the base... I should go back for them. But could she really bring herself to risk the base again? Apparently the boss liked her, but how long would that last?
The group of rogues had stopped under a cliff face for the night. "Damn Teams," someone commented. All of the group were sitting close together, shivering. It had been cold in their 'base,' but at least it had been dry. Out here, they were subject to wind, rain and the cold. Noone was happy about it.
Maybe once they delivered the boy to Magma, they could go back to the base? The pickpocket glanced at Roy. He seemed to be asleep, bundled up in his hoodie, as well as the pickpocket's own coat. He knew how cold it got out here- the elements would only make the boy sicker.
Of course, now there was nothing to stop him from getting sick...
