Ayumi blinked her deep blue eyes, glancing over at Itachi when he spoke. Her vision wasn't as blurry and hazy as it had been when she had earlier woken up, but it was still hard to focus on things. "I-... I'm fine," she managed to say despite the dry feeling in her throat. "Just not feeling well..." Even though she said she was fine though, it wasn't too hard to see that the young Chiko girl had the flu.

Gaara didn't answer the blonde bomber's question, trying to stay calm despite his growing anger, mostly when Ayaka's eyes shut. Clenching his mouth shut, he didn't say anything as sand started to collect around the red-headed Kazekage.
{ Do you want to RP their fight? Or TS to sometime after Kakashi's team had chased off Deidara and dealt with Sasori, to when the Shukaku has already been extracted and Chiyo is saving Gaara? { I'm guessing Ayaka would be getting healed during that time. }

Itachi nodded and got up, handing her some fresh, cold water he had retrieved while she was sleeping. "Here, drink this."

Ayumi watched Itachi for a few seconds, before silently nodding and taking a sip of the water. "How long was I asleep...?" she asked, putting the water down as she looked back over at the Uchiha.

While a few medics were worrying over Ayaka, trying to heal her worst wounds before focusing on smaller ones, many people were crowded around Gaara, who was lying motionless on the ground. Though most of them had come as quickly as they could, most of them had only arrived after the red-headed Kazekage had become lifeless. Even team Kakashi hadn't managed to get here quick enough to suppress the Shukaku, which had lost control when Gaara had seen Ayaka's horrible condition.

Itachi thought for a moment, before replying, "A while."

Ayaka's eyes started to flutter open, and the first thing she whispered out was, "W-Where's Gaara?"

Ayumi silently nodded, looking down at the water in her hands for a few seconds before she spoke. "Sorry if I'm being a hindrance," she whispered quietly, referring to the troublesome flu she had at the moment.

When Ayaka opened her eyes, a few of the medics started speaking, but they were all cut off as Temari managed to get her way into the group. "Ayaka," she said, though her voice was low and off. "It's good that you're awake..."

Itachi shook his head. "Not at all," he replied.

Ayaka's dull gaze locked with Temari's. "Where's Gaara?" she asked again.

Ayumi remained silent after Itachi spoke, doubting that she wasn't actually being a hindrance. It was probably her fault that she had the flu in the first place, after stupidly not bringing warm enough clothes the night before. She didn't say anything about it though, and instead only took another sip of her water, a rather dull look in her halfway opened eyes as she started to feel tired and drowsy again.

Temari hesitated when Ayaka asked where Gaara was again, not answering for a few seconds as her gaze fell down to the ground. "He..." She soon shook her head though as she clenched her eyes shut, not wanting to say what had happened to her younger brother out loud. Even the medics fell silent when the brown-haired girl asked about him.

Itachi watched the young girl, before rising to his feet. "Ayumi, you should rest," he said quietly.

Ayaka finally forced herself up, despite the stinging pain. Out of the crowd of shinobi, she could see Gaara's hand. That alone answered her question. Bringing herself to her hands and knees, she crawled over to his body, tears trickling down her cheeks. "Gaara," she murmured quietly. Looking down at his pale face and pale blue lips, she curled up against his side and nuzzled into his chest, crying.

Ayumi glanced over at Itachi slightly, before nodding a bit. "Alright," she said quietly, before lying back down on the bed. She didn't close her eyes for a few seconds though, and instead just stared at the wall, before an inaudible sigh escaped her lips.

Temari was silent as she watched the brown-haired girl crawl over to her motionless brother, a look of sadness gleaming in her eyes. A few seconds later though, despite the warnings of some of the medics, a certain gray-haired elder slowly stood up, before making her way over to the red-headed Kazekage, only to somewhat collapse to her knees. "You should get up, Mikazuki," the old woman said as she placed her hands on Gaara's chest as her hands became covered in blue chakra, her eyes on the brown-haired girl up against the red-headed Kazekage.

Itachi watched Ayumi before standing up. "Is there anything you need?" he asked softly, quirking an eyebrow.

Ayaka watched with dull eyes, blood still trickling out of her stomach. "W-What are you doing to him?" she whimpered.
