Ryder started his car, rubbing the dash as the car roared to life. "Oh, listen to her purr." He said, grinning at what he called his 'Baby.' Riley rolled her eyes, leaning back in her seat. "Let's just go, hotshot." She said, with a teasing glare in Ryder's direction. She loved the guy like another brother, but he could be a bit obnoxious at times. Ryder just winked at her. "If you say so." He said in a warning tone, before shooting out of the driveway in reverse, sliding his Impala into gear, then zooming down the street. Riley let out a little yelp, gripping the side of the car. "I didn't mean kill us, Ryder!" She said with a laugh, not even bothering to buckle her seatbelt. Ryder always drove her everywhere, and he always said that there was no need for them. And, honestly, he had never shown her otherwise, so she had never worn one.
"So, where are we going again?" A voice from the backseat made Riley jump, and she turned around, only just remembering that her younger brother was in the car. At sixteen, Derek still acted just like a kid. Innocent, quiet, she didn't even think he had got a girlfriend yet. She shrugged, looking over at Ryder. "I think he said we're going to some grocery store. We're supposed to meet up with Emily and Carson there, and then do.. Well, I actually have. I clue what we're gonna do." She rolled her eyes, turning back around to face the front. Her mother had let her move into her own apartment under one condition: She had to take Derek with her. At the time, it sounded like it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Don't get me wrong, she loved Derek with all her heart, she just didn't know how hard living with him would be. Especially with only two bedrooms. So whenever any friends came over to spend the night, they had to sleep in the same bed with Riley - and that includes Ryder. He never let her forget that the two of them had slept together in the same bed, he actually drove her crazy about it. The next time Ryder had come over, Riley had forced Derek to sleep on a sleeping bag, so Ryder could have his bed. She would not go through that again.
Pulling herself from her thoughts with a grin, Riley saw that they had reached the grocery store. She looked around. "You sure we're supposed to meet them here? She asked Ryder, and in return all he did was shrug. "That's what they said."
